Police Blotter: Milltown burglary; Woodbridge scam

MILLTOWN

BURGLARY, between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. Aug. 6. Police are investigating a residential burglary, which occurred on the north end of Clay Street near the North Brunswick border. It is believed that someone entered the rear of the home, which was unoccupied at the time, and removed personal belongings Police encourage residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or information about the burglary to Milltown Police at 732-828-1100.

WOODBRIDGE

THEFT BY DECEPTION, between 5 p.m. Aug. 1 and 1:44 p.m. Aug. 5. A resident reported that on Aug. 1 he purchased a 2003 Toyota Avalon he had seen in an ad on Craigslist. He contacted the person selling the vehicle via email and began corresponding with the seller. The seller advised him that payment was required with prepaid credit cards. The buyer mailed three prepaid credit cards for $500 each and received an invoice receipt email. He also was advised he would receive the vehicle in about two days. The vehicle never arrived.

MIDDLESEX BOROUGH

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA ARREST, 4:35 p.m. July 20. Antonio A. Cianflone, 26, of Middlesex, was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia after being arrested on outstanding warrants.

DWI, 8:10 p.m. July 27. Debbie Drake, 42, of Somerville, was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle crash on Bound Brook Road near Second Street.

HINDERING APPREHENSION, 9:21 a.m. Aug. 4. Jerry L. Hutchinson, 39, of the Somerset section of Franklin, was arrested after providing false information to police during an investigation of a traffic violation. Hutchinson was charged with hindering apprehension and was released on his own recognizance.

PLAINSBORO

CONTEMPT OF COURT, 8:10 a.m. Aug. 5. Police stopped a 1995 Saab after a random DMV inquiry revealed the registered owner, Juliet Cronin, 43, of Lawrenceville, had an active traffic warrant out of West Windsor for $190. Cronin was released on her own recognizance after posting the $190 bail.

FUGITIVES ARRESTED, 10:53 p.m. Aug. 6. Police stopped a 2005 Chevy Impala on Route 1 north for failing to keep right and obstructing traffic. During the motor vehicle stop, the driver, Flomo Gbelewala, 24, of Trenton, and the passenger, Aimee Strouse, 24, of Trenton, were found to be wanted out of Bensalem, Pa. Gbelewala and Strouse were arrested and transported to police headquarters. Both were charged with being fugitives from justice and were later transported to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick in lieu of a no-bail warrant. Gbelewala also received traffic summonses for failure to keep right, obstructing traffic, and driving while suspended.

WARRANT ARREST, 11:39 p.m. Aug. 7. While conducting a DWI patrol, a 2001 BMW 530 was seen failing to maintain its lane on multiple occasions on Route 1 north. The vehicle was stopped and during the investigation the driver, Justin C. Pandelo, 39, of Bradley Beach, was found to be wanted for a $2,000 warrant out of Burlington County Superior Court for non-payment of child support. Pandelo was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. His vehicle was towed from the scene. Pandelo received motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, failure to maintain lane, and failing to exhibit the proof of registration for the vehicle. Pandelo was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick in lieu of the warrant out of Burlington County. Pandelo also has a mandatory court appearance with the Plainsboro Township Municipal Court.
