GMC FOOTBALL: Bishop Ahr falls to Asbury Park

Asbury Park 30, Bishop Ahr 6: The Blue Bishops, who entered this weekend’s action with the ninth most power points in Central Group I, emerged victorious in a must-win game to keep alive their hopes for a playoff berth.

Bishop Ahr (2-6) trailed 8-6 after one quarter before Asbury Park (4-3) scored three unanswered touchdowns to pull away.

The Blue Bishops have won three of their last four games, all against Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division foes including Dunellen and Metuchen, which they outscored 87-20.

Asbury Park’s three losses were by a total of 10 points.
