Ridge 49, Plainfield 14: Sean Spina started the game with a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and later added a 12-yard scoring run as Ridge rolled to a road victory. Brandon Radice threw for a touchdown and ran for another, the pass going to Devin Stieglitz, who also scored on a 37-yard first-quarter run for the Red Devils. Christian Sweeny added a 60-yard TD run and RJ Milligan scored on a 48-yard gallop in the victory. Nolan Hughes finished 7-for-7 kicking extra points for Ridge (2-2), which led 49-0 at halftime. Leonte Langston-Wilder threw pair of fourth-quarter scoring passes for Plainfield (0-4), hitting Harleem Woods with a 38-yard strike and Jarrid Harris for a 30-yard score.

Belvidere 14, Bound Brook 12: Bound Brook scored rushing touchdowns in the first and fourth quarters, but the run on the 2-point conversion attempt to tie it failed, sending the Crusaders (3-1) to their first defeat. The result created a five-way tie in the loss column in the Mid-State 37 Union Division, with Bound Brook facing Roselle Park next week. The Panthers fell to Brearley 40-21 Friday, their first loss of the season.

Summit 56, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 35: Scotch Plains-Fanwood scored 35 second-half points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a 35-0 halftime deficit. The Raiders are 0-4, while the Hilltoppers improved to 2-2.
