Boys Soccer: Westfield named top seed for Union County Tournament

The Westfield High School boys soccer team was named the No. 1 seed in the Union County Tournament on Monday night. 

The Blue Devils (5-1-1), defeated Scotch Plains-Fanwood 2-1 in the final last year for their 11th overall title. Elizabeth, Cranford and Governor Livingston rounded out the top four seeds, which earned a bye into the quarterfinals. No. 5 seed Summit gets a bye into the first round. 

GIRLS SOCCER: UNION COUNTY TOURNAMENT BRACKET

The preliminary round needs to be completed by Oct. 4 and the first round by Oct. 7. The quarterfinals will be Saturday, Oct. 14 and the semifinals are scheduled for Oct. 21. The final is slated for either Oct. 27 or Oct. 28 at Kean University.

16-Linden at 9-Plainfield

15-Union Catholic at 10-Rahway
