Girls Soccer: Westfield earns No. 1 seed for Union County Tournament

The Union County Girls Soccer Tournament was seeded on Monday, and Westfield High School was named the No. 1 seed. 

The Blue Devils (6-0) earned the top seed last year and fell to No. 4 Oak Knoll in penalty kicks in the semifinals.

BOYS SOCCER: UNION COUNTY TOURNAMENT BRACKET

Scotch Plains-Fanwood (6-1), which earned its seventh-straight county title last year with a 1-0 victory over Oak Knoll, earned the second seed. Union is the third seed and Cranford is the fourth seed. The top four seeds all earn byes into the quarterfinals. 

The top 10 seeds, which includes Governor Livingston at No. 8, all earn byes into the first round. 

The preliminary round needs to be completed by Thursday, and the first round wraps up on Sept. 30. The second round needs to be finished by Oct. 7 and the quarterfinals will follow on Oct. 14. The semifinals are scheduled for Oct. 21 at A.L. Johnson and the final will be held on Friday, Oct. 27 at Kean University.
