Field Hockey: Bridgewater-Raritan is top seed in SCT

The Somerset County Field Hockey Tournament was seeded Wednesday night and reigning champion Bridgewater-Raritan was named the No. 1 seed. 

The Panthers (6-1) won last year's tournament for the ninth-straight time with a 5-0 victory over Pingry. Bernards (7-1) was given the No. 2 seed while Pingry (3-3), Hillsborough (2-4) and Montgomery (2-5) rounded out the top five, which all earned byes into the quarterfinals.

The first round is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. and the quarterfinals will be on Oct. 7. The semifinals will be on Oct. 14 and the final is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Mount St. Mary on Oct. 21.

9-Mount St. Mary at 8-Franklin, winner at 1-Bridgewater-Raritan

10-Watchung Hills at 7-Somerville, winner at 2-Bernards

11-North Plainfield at 6-Ridge, winner at 3-Pingy

5-Montgomery at 4-Hillsborough
