We’ll write a feature story about the top vote-getter, so make your votes count. Voting closes Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The players who made our Week One Player of the Week ballot can be found at the bottom of this story and are listed by sport. 

Nominations are based upon statistics available at press time.

GIRLS SOCCER: Ana Davis, Hunterdon Central

Davis, a senior midfielder, scored with 25 seconds left in double overtime to lift Hunterdon Central over Watchung Hills in a Skyland Conference matchup on Saturday. 

BOYS SOCCER: Calum Erlenborn, Bridgewater-Raritan

Erlenborn, a senior goalie, made nine saves in a 2-0 win over Phillipsburg on Sept, 12, eight saves in a 3-1 victory against North Hunterdon on Sept. 14 and 11 saves in a 1-1 double overtime tie against Somerville on Saturday. Erlenborn currenlty has 43 saves for the Panthers (5-0-1).

FIELD HOCKEY: Cassie Boyce, Voorhees

Boyce, a sophomore, recorded two goals in a 7-0 win over Phillipsburg on Sept. 12, scored another two goals in a 5-1 win over Hillsborough on Sept. 14 and tallied one goal and three assists in a 7-0 win over Watchung Hills on Saturday. She currently leads Voorhees (5-1) with nine goals and five assists. 

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Andre Rodriguez, Union Catholic

Rodriguez, a senior, finished fifth in 16:03 to help Union Catholic win the Battle at Ocean County Park, 102-117 over Holmdel on Friday.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Victoria Vanriele, Gov. Livingston

Vanriele, a sophomore, won the St. Dominic Academy Invitational in 20:07.12 on Saturday as Governor Livingston placed second behind Westfield. 

TENNIS: Alexandra Mednikova, Montgomery

Mednikova, a junior, went 5-0 last week, winning one match at first singles and four at second singles as Montgomery beat Hillsborough, Bridgewater-Raritan, Ridge and Summit. Montgomery fell to Millburn 4-1 on Saturday, as Mednikova won the lone match at second singles 7-5, 6-2. 

VOLLEYBALL: Liz Szyszkiewicz, Union Catholic

Szyszkiewicz, a sophomore, played in seven matches last week and finished with 18 aces, 51 service points, 16 kills, 54 assists, three blocks and 11 digs as Union Catholic went 6-1. 

GYMNASTICS: Cindy Liu, Hillsborough

Liu, a junior, finished first in the all-around, vault and balance beam and took second in the uneven bars as Hillsborough won the Raider Invitational on Saturday.
