Girls Soccer: East Brunswick No. 1 seed in GMC Tournament
The East Brunswick High School girls soccer team, the reigning Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament champions, earned the No. 1 seed for this year's tournament.
The Bears defeated No. 9 South Brunswick in last year's final 2-0, winning their 12th county final in 14 years.

BOYS SOCCER: MONROE EARNS TOP SEED FOR GMC TOURNAMENT
Old Bridge was named the No. 2 seed while Piscataway is the No. 3 seed. Monroe is the fourth seed and Highland Park is the fifth seed. Metuchen, Edison and Sayreville round out the top eight seeds, which earned a bye into the first round.
The play-in round is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 16 and the preliminary round is Wednesday, Oct. 18. The first round is set for Friday, Oct. 20 and the quarterfinals will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The semifinals are Thursday, Oct. 26 and the final is slated as a double-header with the boys final on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Woodbridge. The girls final is at 11 a.m. and the boys final will follow at 1:30 p.m.
