Boys Soccer: Monroe earns No. 1 seed for GMC Tournament

The Monroe High School boys soccer team was named the top seed for the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament. 

South Brunswick, a finalist last season, is the No. 2 seed, while East Brunswick is the third seed. Edison is the fourth seed, and reigning champion North Brunswick is the fifth seed. Sayreville, Highland Park and Timothy Christian round out the top eight seeds, which earned a bye into the first round.

The play-in round is scheduled for Oct. 17 while the preliminary round is set for Thursday, Oct. 19. The first round is Saturday, Oct. 21 and the quarterfinals will be on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 26 and the final will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Woodbridge.
