Body pulled from river in Hunterdon County

A body was pulled Thursday from the South Branch of the Raritan River in Hunterdon County, but the death is not considered suspicious.

HUNTERDON COUNTY - A body was pulled from the South Branch of the Raritan River, but the death is not considered suspicious, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III.

Around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, a body was found face-down in the river in the Stantion Station section of Readington, according to a police monitoring service. The body was pulled out by bystanders who noticed that the person was not breathing.

Kearns said police and representatives from his office responded to the scene.

They said the death is under investigation but is not considered suspicious.
