Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament

Pope John 3, North Hunterdon 0: Jensen Macaulay went 2-for-3 as third-seeded North Hunterdon (18-3) fell to No. 1 Pope John (13-7) in the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament final. Eliza Filus and Maggie Swan each singled. Swan earned the loss after she allowed three runs on six hits and struck out 10.

Metuchen 3, Monroe 1: Julie Pirro went 2-for-3 with one run scored as No. 13 Metuchen (12-6) upset No. 4 Monroe. Alanna Benderly and Rachel Wyetzner each scored a run. Molly O'Connor allowed one run on three hits and struck out two. For Monroe (10-9), Emma Pede went 2-for-3 with one run scored. Metuchen will play No. 5 J.P. Stevens in the next round.

Bishop Ahr 7, South River 0: Katie Eicher pitched a perfect game with 16 strikeouts as No. 9 Bishop Ahr (15-6) defeated No. 8 South River (19-3). She also went 3-for-4 with a run scored. Colleen Sharlow went 3-for-4 with two triples and one run scored. Allison LaRochelle had two RBI. Megan Herka went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Colleen Cronin finished with two triples and scored a run. For South River, Mackenzie Garrick struck out 12.

Carteret 8, Colonia 7: No. 7 Carteret (17-4) scored a run in the top of the sixth for the win. Nicole Casale went 3-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored. Caitlyn Murray finished with a double, one RBI and scored twice. Jennah Schiraldo scored twice and Chloe Oblepias had two RBI. For No. 10 Colonia (11-13), Caitlyn Hroncich went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI and one run scored. Lauren Wright finished with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Alyssa Gregor scored twice. Alivia Taveras-Nemes went 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored. Carteret will play No. 2 South Brunswick in the quarterfinals.

Old Bridge 8, Woodbridge 0: Meaghan Dowdell pitched a five-hit shutout and struck out three as No. 6 Old Bridge (14-6) advanced. She also finished with one RBI and scored a run. Jessica Ahearn went 2-for-3 with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored. Bri Loughlin had two RBI. Amanda Carney tripled and scored twice. Mercedes Renter finished with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Paige Nugent scored twice. For No. 11 Woodbridge (11-13), Emily Kolarick went 2-for-3. Kylie Gautier, Brooke Timinski and Ashley Dugasz all singled. Old Bridge will face No. 3 Sayreville in the next round.

South Plainfield 7, Spotswood 0: Katherine Vill pitched a four-hit shutout and struck out 14 as top-seeded South Plainfield (19-3) advanced. She also had one RBI and scored a run. Camryn Schaeffer went 4-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. She also picked up her 100th career hit. Cameron Marks went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and one run scored. Jillian Holoboski finished with a double, one RBI and two runs scored. Caity Hughes went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored. For No. 16 Spotswood (12-10), Julie Raba went 2-for-3. Krista VanWageninge and Savannah Robinson each singled. South Plainfield will face No. 9 Bishop Ahr in the quarterfinals.

J.P. Stevens 7, J.F. Kennedy 0: Ashley Lombardi pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out seven as No. 5 J.P. Stevens (14-4) advanced. She also scored three runs. Abby Jason went 3-for-3 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. Brianna Zederbaum and Alyssa Mido each finished with one RBI and one run scored. Julie Siecinski doubled and scored a run. For No. 12 J.F. Kennedy (11-12), Julia Sinatra and Erin Sinatra singled.

South Brunswick 14, East Brunswick 4 (5 innings): Lindsey Warick went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored for No. 2 South Brunswick (14-1). Carly Rybinski went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Emily Collins, Jess Risch, Jessica Stadler, Kate Mastro and Gabriella Brancaccio each finished with one RBI and one run scored. Brancaccio earned the win after she allowed four runs, one earned, on five hits and struck out four. Jaime Klemas finished with two RBI and scored twice. Haley Grossi had one RBI and scored twice. For No. 15 East Brunswick (6-14), Sarah Ciaccio went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and one run scored. Beth Anania doubled and scored a run. Gina Morrison and Kaleigh O'Kane each scored a run.

Sayreville 19, North Brunswick 0 (4 innings): Kelly Duffy pitched a no-hitter and struck out four as No. 3 Sayreville (15-3) defeated No. 14 North Brunswick (6-14). She also finished with a double, two RBI and scored twice. Kayla Stvan doubled twice and had four RBI. Sam Emolo went 2-for-3 with three RBI and scored twice. Jalyn Dzamba went 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored. Morgan Wehrle finished with a triple, three RBI and scored twice. Ashley Mandala scored three runs. Emma Herrick scored twice. Ryane Brush went 2-for-3 with one RBI and scored twice.

Ridge 3, Somerville 1: Maddie Mertz had one RBI for Ridge (10-11). Alexis Soulias, Maddy West and Kristin Miscia all scored. Sophia Berger allowed one run on five hits and stuck out two in five innings. Maya Bharatiya allowed one hit in two innings. For Somerville (9-8), Natalie Babalis went 2-for-4 with one run scored. Jessica Pinho went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI.

Dunellen 6, Rutgers Prep 5: Laurel Hunnewell went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI for Dunellen (9-11). Chloe Dale doubled and scored a run. Alex Steele had one RBI and scored a run. Brianna McAuley, Taylor Shealy and Benita Feliciano each scored a run. Kate Ruskuski had two RBI and allowed five runs, three earned, on two hits and struck out four. For Rutgers Prep (2-13), Kyla Lamb went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Caleigh Van der Veer had two RBI and scored twice. Nicole Kutner and Sarisha Yadav each scored a run.

Voorhees 12, Warren Hills 4: Erin Shaw went 3-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored for Voorhees (10-7). Sarah Furka went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored. Julia Governali finished with a triple, one RBI and scored twice. Hannah Schiavo doubled, had two RBI and scored twice. Melissa Will finished with two RBI and scored a run. Courtney Wellet doubled and had two RBI. She also earned the win after she allowed four runs, two earned, on nine hits and struck out seven.

Dayton 10, Bound Brook 0: Nicole Roth and Jordan Todaro each singled for Bound Brook (5-12).

Manville 16, Piscataway Tech 0 (4 innings): Brianna Rivea and Mindy Sonnenberg each finished with two singles and scored three runs for Manville (7-12). Emme Vornlocker scored three runs. Sam Zuza struck out five.

Somerset Tech 17, West Caldwell Tech 9: Liliana Gomez went 4-for-5 with a double, four RBI and three runs scored for Somerset Tech (8-6). Rebeka Quagliato went 4-for-5 and scored twice. Sarah Yagual went 4-for-5 with a double, four RBI and four runs scored. Kate Kelly went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored.

New Brunswick 18, Timothy Christian 2: Lisbeth Reyes earned the win for New Brunswick (4-13) after she allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out two. She also went 2-for-2 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. Nichole Rivas went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored. Rosnelly Duran went 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run scored. Maria Collado Matias went 2-for-2 and scored three runs. Sha'Nya Lige finished with a triple and scored four runs. Brianny Cerda and Mohogany Hall each scored twice.

South Amboy 16, Woodbridge Academy 2 (4 innings): Alissa Bikowski went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored for South Amboy (11-5). Meaghan McCarthy went 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs scored. Jenna Makar went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Shannon Tran finished with a double and scored twice. Kaleigh Keegan pitched a no-hitter and struck out three in two innings. Jaime Moran allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one in two innings.
