GMC Softball: This week's Top 10, schedule, division standings
TOP 10
1. South Plainfield (19-3): South Plainfield had a five-game win streak snapped with back-to-back losses against A.L. Johnson and J.P. Stevens. The Tigers rebounded with a 7-0 win over Spotswood in the GMC Tournament.
2. South Brunswick (14-1): South Brunswick is in the midst of a five-game winning streak, including a 14-4 victory over East Brunswick in the GMC Tournament.
3. Sayreville (15-3): Sayreville has won eight of its last nine games, with a loss against South Plainfield on May 4. The Bombers have won their last two games, a 2-0 win over Carteret and a 19-0 victory over North Brunswick in the GMC Tournament.
4. Monroe (10-9): Monroe had a five-game win streak snapped with a 3-1 loss to Metuchen in the GMC Tournament. During its win streak the Falcons outscored opponents 47-10.
5. J.P. Stevens (14-4): J.P. Stevens has won six in a row, including a 2-1 victory over South Plainfield on May 11 and a 7-0 win over J.F. Kennedy in the GMCT. During those five games the Hawks have outscored opponents 37-6.
6. Old Bridge (14-6): Old Bridge has won three in a row since a three-game losing streak. The Knights picked up wins against Raritan, Westfield and a 8-0 victory over Woodbridge in the GMC Tournament.
7. Bishop Ahr (15-6): Bishop Ahr has won seven of its last eight games, including a 1-0 victory over South Plainfield on April 27. The Trojans also advanced to the quarterfinals of the GMC Tournament after Katie Eicher pitched a perfect game against South River on Monday.
8. Carteret (17-4): Carteret has won three of its last four games, including a win over Colonia to advance to the GMC Tournament quarterfinals.
9. South River (19-3): South River had an 18-game win streak snapped with a 1-0 loss to Dunellen and then fell to Bishop Ahr in the GMC Tournament.
10. Colonia (11-13): Colonia snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over Perth Amboy before falling to Carteret 8-7 in the GMC Tournament on Monday.
