With some quality golfers breathing down its collective neck, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School boys golf team was still able to come out on top.

South Brunswick tallied a 257 and Old Bridge shot a 249, but the Raiders were just a hair better on Wednesday and shot a 245 to bring home the team championship at the 8th Annual Bombers Tee Off Classic Golf Tournament at the Metuchen Golf and Country Club.

The Raiders placed three golfers in the top 10 in a tournament that hosted 14 teams from predominately Middlesex County. Louie Danille shot a 79, which was good enough for second best score in the tournament. Jimmy Harcourt tallied an 82, fourth best in the tournament, and Jimmy Bagadonas recorded an 84, which was good for seventh place.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood was also aided by Miguel Fontora, who shot a 91 and tied for 12th in individual scoring.

Old Bridge’s Stephen Sul led the field with a score of 73 and took home the individual championship.
