GMC Softball: This week's top 10, standings and schedule

GMC SOFTBALL TOP 10

1. South Plainfield (12-0): South Plainfield remains undefeated and has scored 75 runs in 12 games. Katherine Vill has started every game and allowed 13 runs (eight earned) in 80 innings with 92 strikeouts and 10 walks.

2. South Brunswick (8-0): South Brunswick is the only other undefeated team in the GMC this season. The Vikings have scored 71 runs and allowed 17. Jaime Klemas has 16 hits, 13 RBI and has scored 14 runs in 26 at-bats, while Carly Rybinski has 13 hits, six RBI, nine runs scored and five stolen bases in 28 at-bats.

3. J.P. Stevens (7-2): After losing two straight to Monroe and South Brunswick, J.P. Stevens bounced back with shutout wins over Edison and Piscataway, scoring 33 runs in three games. Ashley Lombardi has allowed 13 runs and struck out 40 in 39 2/3 innings and is currently batting .594.

4. Sayreville (9-2): After losing to South Plainfield 2-1 in eight innings on April 19, Sayreville rebounded with wins over Woodbridge and Bishop Ahr. Kelly Duffy has allowed 12 earned runs with 60 strikeouts in 62 innings. She also leads the team with 14 RBI on 25 hits and 19 runs scored in 42 at-bats.

5. Old Bridge (8-3): Old Bridge has gone 3-1 in its last four games, with shutout wins over Monroe and Colonia and a 12-7 victory over Edison. The lone loss came against South Brunswick 2-0. Meaghan Dowdell has 78 strikeouts in 70 innings. Nicole Cashman is batting .486 with 17 hits, eight RBI and seven runs scored in 35 at-bats.

6. Bishop Ahr (8-4): Bishop Ahr had a five-game win streak snapped with 4-2 loss to Sayreville on Monday. In those five games the Argonauts scored 71 runs and allowed only five. Katie Eicher has 95 strikeouts in 55 innings, while Alyssa DeJianne has 24 strikeouts and has allowed four runs in 16 innings.

7. Carteret (12-2): Carteret has won four in a row since falling to J.F. Kennedy on April 18. In those four games the Ramblers outscored opponents 37-19. Caitlyn Murray has 64 strikeouts in 78 innings and is 9-2 on the season. She's also batting .524 with 23 RBI, 22 hits and 21 runs scored in 42 at-bats.

8. Monroe (5-7): Monroe, which is 5-2 in the GMC Red Division, has gone 2-2 in its last four games, with wins over Piscataway and East Brunswick and losses against Old Bridge and South Plainfield. Kiersten Flueger is batting .571 with 13 RBI, 16 hits and 14 runs scored in 28 at-bats.

9. South River (12-1): South River is in the midst of a 11-game win streak, and the Rams have scored 10 or more runs in nine of those victories. Mackenzie Garrick has 159 strikeouts in 69 innings, and has allowed 17 runs, eight of them earned. She's also batting .773 with 31 RBI, 34 hits and 24 runs scored in 44 at-bats.

10. Colonia (7-8): Colonia has gone 2-2 in its last four games, with losses against Old Bridge and Bishop Ahr and wins over North Brunswick and Perth Amboy. Frankie Brock (.342), Alyssa Gregor (.455) and Caitlyn Hroncich (,308) lead the team.
