GMC Softball Roundup for Monday, May 8

South Brunswick 12, East Brunswick 3: Jaime Klemas went 3-for-5 with one double, two runs and two RBI while Haley Grossi went 2-for-4 with one double, two runs and two RBI for South Brunswick (13-1). Emily Collins and Kate Martro both went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run and Jess Risch went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run for the Vikings. Courtney Ur drove in two runs for East Brunswick (5-12).

South Plainfield 16, Piscataway 1 (4 innings): Caity Hughes went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs scored and four RBI for South Plainfield (18-1). Jillian Holoboski and Julie Davis each collected two hits and one RBI while Katherine Vill drove in three runs for the Tigers. Vill also allowed no hits and no walks and struck out three through four innings of work. Caitlyn Erdman scored once for Piscataway (2-11).

J.P. Stevens 3, Old Bridge 2: Alyssa Mido went 2-for-3 with one home run for J.P. Stevens (11-4). Ashley Lombardi went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI for the Hawks. Lombardi also tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits, one walk and striking out five. Amanda Carney went 2-for-3 with one home run and Meaghan Dowdell went 2-for-3 for Old Bridge (11-6). Dowdell also allowed three runs on eight hits, one walk and struck out five through six innings.

Monroe 21, Edison 5 (4 innings): McKayla Krajcsovics went 3-for-4 with one home run, one double, two runs and six RBI to power Monroe (9-8). Jenna Theoret  went 2-for-2with one home run, four runs and two RBI while Kiersten Flueger went 2-for-3 with four runs for the Falcons. Bianca Newsom went 2-for-3 with one double, one run and two RBI and Gianna Fresnedo added two RBI for Edison (1-16).

South River 10, Timothy Christian 0 (5 innings): Mackenzie Garrick tossed five innings and allowed one hit and one walk while tallying 15 strikeouts for South River (18-1). Ashley Fischer went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored while Erin Kowalski went 2-for-2 with one run for the Rams.

Carteret 11, Woodbridge 7: Jennah Schiarldo went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run for Carteret (16-3). Chloe Oblepias drove in three runs, Anatlaia Angel went 2-for-4 with two RBI an one run while Gineyra Rios went 3-for-3 with one run for the Ramblers. Mackenzie Thomas went 2-for-4 with two home runs and two RBI for Woodbridge (9-13).

North Brunswick 8, Colonia 3: Katrina Lauri went 3-for-4 with one double, one run and two RBI while Kayla Scher hit a home run and drove in three runs for North Brunswick (5-13). Tara Jennings allowed two earned runs on 10 hits, one walk and struck out five for the Raiders. Yamilee Moreta went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI while Alyssa Gregor went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run scored for Colonia (10-12).

J.F. Kennedy 7, Spotswood 6: Adriana Arroyo went 3-for-4 with one double, one RBI and one run while Madison Buttitta went 3-for-4 with one run for J.F. Kennedy (10-11). Jillian Sims went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run and Alexis Claiborne went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run for the Mustangs. Krista VanWageninge went 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run, Julie Raba went 3-for-4 with one double and two runs and Shannon Gonnella went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run for Spotswood (11-10).

Perth Amboy Tech 15, Highland Park 2 (6 innings): Devyn Kenedy went 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored and Christine Zapata went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Perth Amboy Tech (11-4). Jaylen Alverez allowed two runs on six hits and two walks and struck out five. For Highland Park (4-10), Shantal Azcona went 2-for-3 while Simona Moyal and Isa Toral each drove in one run.
