Middlesex 8, North Brunswick 6: The Blue Jays (9-1) scored twice in the top of the sixth inning to snap a 6-6 deadlock.

Mike Salerno went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, four RBI and two runs scored for Middlesex. Matt Carovillano (2-for-3) was the only other Blue Jay with a multiple hit game. Michael Schweyher contributed three runs scored to the victory.

Carovillano (three shutout innings) earned the win in relief of starting pitcher Nick DiMaggio.

Sean Breheny (solo homer and two runs scored) and Justin Garcia each went 2-for-4 for North Brunswick (3-8), while teammate Christian Petrillo doubled, scored and plated two runs.

The Raiders scored five times in the home second, closing a 6-0 deficit to one run. They crossed home with the equalizer in the ensuing frame.

The teams combined for 18 hits and stranded 15 runners.

J.F. Kennedy 6, Edison 2: The Mustangs rallied for four runs in the top of the eighth to snap a 2-2 deadlock and win a third consecutive game in their final at-bat.

Matthew Godlewski (3-for-3) and Hakim Hamer (2-for-3) each scored a run for J.F. Kennedy. Godlewski doubled, walked and had an RBI.

J.F. Kennedy starter Jordy Mora pitched six and two thirds innings, fanning 10, scattering four hits, walking four and allowing two earned runs while earning a no-decision. Richard Rojas earned the win with one and a third innings of relief.

Edison was outhit 10-4 and could not overcome five errors. The Eagles scored two runs in the home fourth to erase a 1-0 deficit. The Mustangs, who scored their first run in the opening frame, plated their second run in the fifth.

Mike Barbato (2-for-4 with a double) and Christian Biolsi each scored for Edison. Biolso allowed one earned run over five innings. He fanned six, walked four and scattered four hits in a 104-pitch effort.

The Eagles fell to 2-9 with their sixth consecutive defeat. Five of Edison’s losses have been by a total of 12 runs.

J.F. Kennedy’s four losses are by a total of 10 runs. The Mustangs improved to 5-4.

South River 11, Princeton 8: Brandon Szerszen went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI for the Rams (4-6), who scored eight runs in the fifth inning to break the game open.

RJ Fischer went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and South River teammate Louis Sasso had two hits and an RBI. Michael DeSantis also had two hits and an RBI for the Rams.

Nick Errico picked up the win, allowing 11 hits and striking out three over six and two thirds innings. Billy Marlow got the save.

Bergen Catholic 2, St. Joseph 1: Despite outhitting a team The Star Ledger of Newark ranks seventh in the state, the Falcons endured their second one-run loss in a week.

Losing pitcher Jake Hellwig went the distance, scattering five hits, fanning three, walking two and allowing two earned runs.

Centerfielder Jon Sot and catcher Brandon Warick finished with two hits apiece. The Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Sot scored on Warick’s bases-loaded single. St. Joseph finished with nine hits.

The Crusaders plated the equalizer in the bottom half of the inning and scored the game’s only other run in the ensuing frame.

St. Joseph fell to 6-5. Bergen Catholic improved to 6-2.

Allentown 2, South Brunswick 0: Chris James led off the seventh with a single up the middle to spoil Jordan Winston’s no-hit bid.

The Vikings eventually loaded the bases against Winston but left them stranded when the Allentown ace fanned the game’s final batter. Winston finished with 10 strikeouts to outduel counterpart Jacob Ciccone.

James, who also walked twice, was the only South Brunswick batter to reach base in the first six innings.

Centerfielder Marco DiIusto recorded an assist at third base to limit an Allentown rally in the sixth inning to just one run.

The Vikings (8-3) had a four-game winning streak snapped. Allentown improved to 8-0.

Roselle Park 14, Timothy Christian 1: The Tigers, who were outhit 8-4, allowed nine runs in the fifth inning.
