GMC Softball Roundup for Tuesday, April 11

Carteret 11, Edison 1: Caitlyn Murray picked up the win for Carteret (5-0) after she allowed one earned run on two hits and struck out seven in five innings. Murray also went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Nicole Casale went 2-for-3 with a home run, double, three RBI and two runs scored. Jennah Schiraldo went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored. Melody Caces scored twice and Jessica Freeman had two RBI. For Edison (1-4), Gianna Fresnedo had an RBI and Bianca Newsom scored. Jessica Hoover doubled twice.

Old Bridge 4, Bishop Ahr 3: Down 1-0 entering the top of the sixth, Old Bridge (3-2) scored three runs in the sixth and one run in the top of the seventh for the win. Nicole Cashman finished 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Amanda Carney scored twice. Jessica Gaughan added one RBI and one run scored. Bishop Ahr (2-2) scored twice in the bottom of the seventh. Allison LaRochelle doubled and scored a run. Alyssa DeJianna doubled and had one RBI. Katie Eicher and Colleen Sharlow also scored. Ryleigh Greenwald had one RBI.

Perth Amboy Tech 10, Wardlaw-Hartridge 3:  Jaylen Alverez finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored for Perth Amboy Tech (3-0). She also improved to 3-0 after she allowed three earned runs on eight hits and struck out five. Daisy Arocho finished with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Rebecca Haggerty went 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Diana Bueno doubled, scored twice and had one RBI. Izabelle Acevedo went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. Gabby Hoffman scored a run for Wardlaw-Hartridge (1-2). Kerry McGrath went 2-for-2 with a triple.

Dunellen 21, Mother Seton 8: Alex Steele led Dunellen (3-2) by going 4-for-6 with two home runs, a triple, six RBI and three runs scored. Erin Barnett went 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and four runs scored. Alexis Coore tripled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored three runs. Taylor Shealy went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and three runs scored. Benita Feliciano doubled, scored three runs and had three RBI.

Metuchen 10, Spotswood 0: Junior right fielder Molly Walters went 3-for-3, while sophomore Bridget O'Connor went 2-for-2 and senior third baseman Alanna Benderly went 2-for-4. Senior pitcher Molly O'Connor picked up her second win, striking out six and giving up one hit. Spotswood's Megan Tully picked up the lone hit.

Notre Dame 7, Monroe 1: Tara Pietrulewicz drove in Sarah Stepnowski for Monroe (1-4).
