GIRLS LACROSSE

South Brunswick 12, North Brunswick 10: Lindsey Szucs led South Brunswick (4-1) with a hat trick and three assists. Jill Grzelak finished with four goals and one assist. Briana Gonzales added a hat trick and one assist. Shannen Sterner scored twice. For North Brunswick (3-2), Tory Tucci scored seven goals, including her 200th career goal. Hayley Greenberg, Katie Panitch and Elena Vargas also scored.

East Brunswick 10, South Plainfield 8: Madelyn Farrell finished with a hat trick and one assist and Caitlyn Robertson had a hat trick to pace East Brunswick (2-4). Brianna Bogle, Kristen Maxwell, Maria Marmora and Angini Ragumar also scored. Heather Soloman made 18 saves. Ashley Veliz led South Plainfield (1-3) with a hat trick. Haley Olsen scored twice. Gisselle Flores, Courtney Smith and Lynda Farinella also scored. Tatianna Sutor made 17 saves.

Monroe 16, J.P. Stevens 4: Kara Turco recorded a hat trick and one assist for Monroe (5-1). Lesley Lane, Ashley Patten and Olivia Hyrmoc each tallied two goals and one assist. Courtney Frycz, Teresa Buffolino, Jill Reina and Paige Gandy each added one goal and one assist. Harshita Jain led J.P. Stevens (0-3) with two goals. Marcella Cianfano and Maleeha Khan also scored.

Ridge 14, Watchung Hills 11: Bea Behrins tallied six goals and an assist, and Mena Loescher added give goals and five assists to send Ridge (6-0). Madelyn Murphy netted five goals, and Emery Jochnau, Katie Carroll and Haley Frey each hit twice for Watchung Hills (1-4).

New Providence 17, Villa Walsh 3: Kaitlyn Cumiskey tallied seven goals and three assists to fuel New Providence (3-1). Samantha Scott tallied three goals and three assists, while Iris Kaloshi and Sadie Miller each also scored three goals for the Pioneers.

Delaware Valley 20, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 10: Erin Pfreundschuh scored eight goals and added an assist, and Jeanne Harabedian chipped in four goals and four assists to fuel Delaware Valley (4-0). Ava Boethig also scored four goals for the Terriers. Amber Bretz and Erin Chiappi scored two goals apiece for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (2-4).

BOYS LACROSSE

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 14, Johnson 6: Jack Brady finished with five goals and one assist to lead Scotch Plains-Fanwood (3-1). Robert Gordon and Richard Nardone each recorded a hat trick. Anthony Porter added one goal and two assists. Riley Guma and Tom Bruckman combined for 14 saves.

Old Bridge 9, South Brunswick 3: Micah Trawick recorded a hat trick and two assists and Bryson Corbett added a hat trick and one assist for Old Bridge (3-1). Bryce Walker finished with two goals and three assists. Justin Fox scored twice. Jack Starner chipped in three assists. Thomas Francy made 16 saves.

St. Joseph (Met.) 16, North Brunswick 3: Timmy Day finished with four goals and three assists to pace St. Joseph (2-2). Max Bischoff recorded two goals and two assists. Dillon Snee had a hat trick and Michael Cardinali scored twice. Richard Hoffman added three assists. Parker Hilton, Brian Gates and Carlos Martinez each had one goal and one assist. Andrew Richardson led North Brunswick (1-5) with two goals. Graham Randall also scored.

Edison 15, Union Catholic/Wardlaw-Hartridge 1: For Union Catholic/Wardlaw-Hartridge (0-3), Jack Sartor scored on an assist from Andrew Park. Drew Cummins made 13 saves.

East Brunswick 16, J.P. Stevens 6: For J.P. Stevens (4-1), Sean Seneviratne led with two goals and three assists. Robert Distefano scored twice. Chuck Youse and Kevin Scoda also scored.

CN-AREA BASEBALL

Voorhees 8, Bound Brook 1: Marcus Celiano singled and drove in two runs, and Damian Walls finished 3-for-3 with a double, run and RBI to power Voorhees (3-1). Kyle Kokoskie singled, doubled twice and scored a run for the Vikings. Eric Dubecky went 2-for-3 for Bound Brook (0-4).

Somerville 10, Delaware Valley 5: Thomas Babalis homered and drove in three runs, and Preston Scott went 3-for-5 with a run scored to send Somerville (3-1). Dante Bozzuti chipped in two hits and two RBIs to the winning effort. Christian Hlinka singled, homered and drove in two runs, while Scott Becker and Christian Perna each rapped out two hits for Delaware Valley (1-3).

Somerset Tech 11, Warren Tech 6: Christian Melendez posted three hits and four runs scored and winning pitcher Brian Turck singled twice and doubled, scoring four runs for Somerset Tech (1-0). Ryan Kelco singled, doubled, scored a run and knocked in a run for the Jags.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 7, Union 4: Sam Schetelich singled, homered and drove in two runs, and Jake Canavan added two hits, including a double, and scored a run for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (3-1). Danny Wilkinson allowed no runs and just one hit over four innings, walking one and striking out six to post his first victory.

Phillipsburg 6, Pingry 5: Nate Hafner drove in two runs and Jack Lauren went 2-for-2 with a double, run and RBI, but Pingry committed three errors in the fourth inning, leading to six Phillipsburg runs. Joe Possumato and Clyde Leef each picked up two hits for the Big Blue (2-1).
