South Plainfield 7, Paramus 4: The Tigers scored three runs in the top of the ninth to break a 4-4 deadlock. South Plainfield scored twice in the top of the seventh to erase a 4-2 deficit.

Jared Marks went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI for South Plainfield, which outhit Paramus 9-7. Ricky Pellegrino went 2-for-5 with two RBI for the Tigers. Jean Sapini had an RBI.

Chris Shine (six innings) and Dylan O'Connor (three innings) combined to limit Paramus to four runs. Shine fanned five and walked three while scattering five hits. O'Connor yielded two hits and one walk.

Conor Adams, Rob Gonzalez, Mike Marrero, TJ Massaro, Kevin Soper and O'Connor each scored for the Tigers.

North Hunterdon 9, Metuchen 4: The Lions rallied for five runs in the fourth to put the contest out of reach. The Bulldogs fell to 1-4.

J.F. Kennedy 7, A.L. Johnson 6: The Mustangs, who snapped a four-game losing streak, scored the winning run in the top of the eighth.

After opening the season with a series sweep of White Division foe North Brunswick, J.F. Kennedy dropped its next four games by a total of just 10 runs.

After spotting the Crusaders a 3-0 lead in the second inning, J.F. Kennedy scored two runs in the third and two more in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead. The Mustangs added single runs in each of the next two frames, building their margin to 6-3.

A.L. Johnson answered with three runs in the sixth to make the score 6-6.

North Brunswick 6, Carteret 3: Andrew Tan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to help the Raiders win their second straight.

North Brunswick scored three runs in the top of the fifth to build a 6-1 lead. Carteret answered with single runs in the home fifth and home sixth to produce the final margin.

Christian Petrillo doubled, walked twice and scored three runs for the Raiders. Teammate Damian Ortiz went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

Winning pitcher Danny Reardon scattered seven hits and allowed one earned run over five innings. He fanned five and did not issue a walk. Reliever Mike Scimone hurled two innings without allowing an earned run.

Michael App went 2-for-3 for Carteret. James Hart collected three hits and two RBI for the Ramblers. Teammate Angelo Golino scored two runs and singled.

East Brunswick 14, Bishop Ahr 0: The lone Bear to have a multiple-hit game, Brad Edwards went 2-for-3 with two RBI as East Brunswick used 17 players in a contest shortened to five innings via the mercy rule.

Mike Falco (three innings), Joe Petrocelli (one inning) and Evan Dekhayser (one inning) combined on a one-hit shutout. The trio combined for nine strikeouts and issued just one walk.

Matt Nelson and Matt Bartus had three RBI apiece, while Mike Falco walked twice, scored twice, plated two runs and singled.

Ten Bears had at least one hit apiece and 10 East Brunswick players each scored at least one run.

East Brunswick rallied for seven runs in the fourth to build a 12-0 lead.

Rich Albrecht had Bishop Ahr’s only hit.

Paramus Catholic 3, St. Joseph 2: After Mike Velez scored Ross Maertz with a sacrifice fly in the home fourth, the Paladins scored twice in the top half of the ensuing inning.

St. Joseph rallied in the seventh to produce the final margin. Maertz doubled in the opening frame but was left stranded.

Velez hurled the first six innings before Nick Estes pitched a scoreless seventh in relief.

Middlesex 6, J.P. Stevens 5: After squandering a 5-2 lead, the undefeated Blue Jays rallied in the top of the eighth for a run, which relieved Matt Carovillano made stand up for Middlesex’s seventh consecutive win.

Jared Venutolo went 2-for-3 with a double, while Middlesex teammate Jack Hnylycia had a single and two RBI.

Quincy West started the game on the mound. He allowed five runs on eight hits over six innings. He fanned eight and walked one. West also had an RBI and scored twice.

The Hawks fell to 2-4.

St. Joseph (Montvale) 7, Old Bridge 2: Sonny Fauci went 2-for-2 with a solo homer and scored twice as the Knights (3-4) fell to an undefeated team that Perfect Game ranks among the Top 50 in the country.

Old Bridge scored in the top of the fourth, closing a 3-0 deficit to two runs. The Knights scored their other run in the sixth. Old Bridge was outhit 11-5.

Jon Sammarco, Mike Olivia and Matt Laconti each singled for the Knights. Fauci also hurled an inning of relief.

Losing pitcher Joe Papro allowed five runs (two earned) on eight hits over five innings. He fanned five and walked two.

Colonia 10, Rumson-Fair Haven 7: Chris Michael earned the win with two innings of relief and also contributed a single, double and two RBI to the victory.

The Patriots improved to 5-3 with their third consecutive win. Colonia’s three losses were by a total of seven runs.

Jason Hilenski went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI for the Patriots, while teammate Nick Michael went 2-for-4 with two runs.

South River 7, Edison 4: The Rams (2-5) scored six runs in the home fifth to erase a 4-1 deficit.

Nick Razzano’s RBI infield single knotted the contest at 4-4. Nick Errico followed with a run-scoring groundout. Louis Sasso capped the rally with a two-run double over the centerfielder’s head.

Michael DeSantis went 2-for-4 with an RBI for South River, while teammate Billy Drum collected two hits including an RBI double. Six Rams had one hit apiece.

Errico scattered eight hits and fanned two over six innings for the win. Billy Marlow pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.

Sammy Cruz went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Edison. Jeremy Deoleo went 3-for-3 for the Eagles (2-6).

Bernards 10, Dunellen 0: Conor McCrimmon recorded the Destroyers’ lone hit in a game shortened to five innings via the mercy rule.

Two Dunellen pitchers combined to allow 10 earned runs on 12 hits. The duo walked four and fanned three.

With the exception of an eight-run third inning, the Destroyers, who committed just one error, held their own against Bernards (4-3), a perennial Group I power.

Piscataway 9, Perth Amboy 8: After building a six-run lead in the first inning, the Chiefs (5-2) had to hold on for their fifth consecutive victory.

Winning pitcher Evan Okamoto hurled four innings. He scattered nine hits, fanned seven, allowed five runs (four earned) and walked two. Piscataway committed five errors.

Chris Corvil contributed two singles, two runs, an RBI and a walk to the victory. Parris Washington singled, doubled, plated a run and scored twice.

Darius Diaz went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored for the Panthers, who fell to 0-6 with its second one-run loss.

Perth Amboy’s Chris Brito (1-for-3) had three RBI and three runs scored.

Timothy Christian 2, Manville 1: Michael Thiero crossed home with the winning run for the Tigers (3-5), who have been victorious in three of their last four games.

Thiero hurled seven and two thirds inning, allowing one unearned run on four hits. He fanned 14 and walked one.

Jarrett Johnson and Jonathan Thiero had the only hits for Timothy Christian. Josiah DeSantos scored in the fifth inning when the Tigers erased a 1-0 deficit.

Michael Thiero threw 112 pitches before yielding to reliever Johnson, who retired the only batter he faced and was credited with the win.
