GIRLS BASKETBALL

Prep A Tournament semifinals

Pingry 54, Blair 52: Kelsey Ransom led Pingry (18-6) with 34 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Megan Horn finished with 14 points, four rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. Alyson Feeley recorded 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal. Ally Pyne pulled down eight rebounds and Olivia Volpe scored six points.

Regular Season

Somerville 48, Voorhees 33: Meghan Douglas recorded a double-double for Somerville (18-6) with 15 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks, three steals and three assists. Emily Markowski added seven points, three steals and two rebounds. Bella Cafaro led Voorhees (9-17) with 10 points. Katie McCombs scored nine points.

Mendham 55, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 38: Abbe-Gayle Burton finished with 10 points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (13-10). Brenna McNamara recorded eight points and one assist. Kaysia Minor added seven points, three rebounds and one steal. 

ICE HOCKEY

NJSIAA Non-Public first round

St. Joseph (Met.) 10, Frisch 0: Dylan Castello led No. 13 St. Joseph (10-10-1) with two points and three rebounds. Andrew Castello finished with two goals and one assist. Mike Rocco recorded one goal and three assists. Ryan Ozmanic added one goal and two assists. Daniel Bradshaw and Mark Borek each had one goal and one assist. Steven Hollabaugh and Mitchell Johnson also scored. Dean Rocco chipped in two assists. Joseph Morello, Norman Matyi, Ty Carter and Michael Sasso each had one assist. Clay Whittington made 16 saves. St. Joseph will face fourth-seeded Gloucester Catholic in the next round.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Rutgers Prep 81, Phillipsburg 77: Richie Greaves led Rutgers Prep (13-8) with 22 points, four assists, three steals and one rebound. Trey Patterson finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and one steal. Nahshon Battle recorded 12 points, six assists, two rebounds, one block and one steal. Zach Martini added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal. Jonah Charles chipped in 10 assists, six points, five rebounds, one block and one steal. 

Bound Brook 50, Dunellen 41: Jayden Hill scored 22 points to pace Bound Brook (16-10). Kyle Frauenheim finished with 16 points. Drew Johnson led Dunellen (14-10) with 15 points, including three 3-pointers, and four rebounds. Baraka Yabidi recorded seven points, six rebounds and one assist. Tyje Kelton contributed nine rebounds, four assists, four blocks, four steals and three points.
