South Amboy 12, Timothy Christian 2: Kyle Gasiewski went 2-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI, while teammates Raymond Perez and Nick Charmello each registered a hit.
The Governors (1-2) scored nine runs over the first three frames and tacked on three more runs in the fifth to invoke the mercy rule.

The Tigers (0-3) scored single runs in the third and fifth innings. Josiah DeSantos had Timothy Christian’s lone hit. Jonathan Thiero had an RBI for the Tigers.
Charmello allowed one hit, one walk, one earned run and fanned seven over four innings for the win.
Perth Amboy Tech 8, Wardlaw-Hartridge 7: The undefeated Patriots rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh to erase a 7-6 deficit en route to their third consecutive victory.
After a pair of walks and an outfield error allowed the tying run to score in the seventh, the Rams intentionally walked Victor Caraballo to load the bases. A balk forced home the winning run.
Caraballo hurled three innings of relief – including a scoreless seventh – for the win.
Perth Amboy Tech snapped a 5-5 deadlock in the sixth on freshman sensation Damian Batista’s RBI single. Batista and Nick Rutter each had three hits for the Patriots, while Anthony Niech and Caraballo had two hits apiece.
After spotting the Rams a 3-0 lead in the home first, Perth Amboy Tech rallied for five runs in the third to take a 5-3 lead. Niech highlighted the outburst with a two-run single up the middle. Batista followed with an RBI double.
The Rams were outhit 12-5. Each team committed four errors.
Spotswood 5, J.F. Kennedy 1: The first five Spotswood batters reached base to start the game as the visiting Chargers (2-0) built a 4-0 lead that junior right-hander Fred Rago made stand up.
Rago scattered three hits over five innings. He fanned six, allowed one earned run and walked none. Chris Auciello closed with two scoreless innings for the second consecutive game. Auciello fanned three and retired all six batters he faced.
Ryan Szatkowski led off the game with a double. JT Vento followed with a walk. Mike Izzo loaded the bases with a single. Nick Vincelli delivered a two-run single to right before Matt Ciaccio laced an RBI double. Dylan Seel’s sacrifice fly closed out the first-inning barrage.
Mike Matusz, Hakim Hemer and David Morales each had a hit for J.F. Kennedy (2-1). Morales scored on Jordy Mora’s roller to first in the third inning for the Mustangs’ lone run.
Losing pitcher Matt Godlewski scattered five hits over five innings. He allowed four earned runs, walked four and did not fan a batter. Reliever Zack Schneider fanned three and allowed one earned run over two innings.
Izzo finished 2-for-4, while Vento had a double, two runs scored and a stolen base.
Woodbridge 14, Edison 2: The Barrons (4-0) scored eight runs in the first inning, providing starting pitcher Zach Delvalle with more than enough offensive support.
Carlos Marte (3-for-4) and Josepher Gutierrez (3-for-3) combined for six of Woodbridge’s 14 hits. Zach Joe (three runs), Harry Rutkowski (two runs) and Michael Medvetz (two runs) each had two hits. Justin Silva went 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Delvalle also plated a run with a hit.
Delvalle allowed one unearned run over four innings. He scattered two hits, fanned five and walked five. Michael Medvetz closed the game, allowing one earned run on two hits and a walk. He fanned two.
Mike Barbato went 1-for-3 and scored both Edison runs. Teammate Christian Biolsi had a double and an RBI.
The Eagles (1-1) used three pitchers.
