Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament first round

Vernon 5, Delaware Valley 4: Scott Becker doubled, tripled and scored a run, but ninth-seeded Delaware Valley was toppled by 16th-seeded Vernon. Danny Hanczaryk went 6 2/3 innings for the Terriers (4-4), allowing just three earned runs on six hits, walking one and striking out five.

Regular season

Pingry 8, Morristown-Beard 3: Clyde Leef notched two hits, a run and two RBIs and Spencer Spellman doubled and drove in a run to send Pingry (4-4). Joe Possumato went the distance for the Big Blue, allowing two earned runs on five hits, walking two and striking out five.

Somerset Tech 15, Academy Charter 10: Ryan Kelco singled twice, scored three runs and drove in four as Somerset Tech won a back-and-forth affair. Brian Truck chipped in three hits, three runs and two RBIs, while Christian Melendez singled, doubled, scored three runs and posted two RBIs for the Jags (2-1).

Piscataway 7, Franklin 6: AJ Gordon notched two hits and two RBIs and Brian DiNicola doubled and scored two runs, but Franklin fell to 0-6.

J.F. Kennedy 4, Westfield 3: Chris Wagner went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Arthur Xiao added a single and an RBI, but Westfield fell to 4-5. Connor Scanlon allowed three runs on six hits over six innings, walking one and striking out five for the Blue Devils.
