Softball: Somerset County Tournament bracket set
The 2017 Somerset County Tournament was seeded Tuesday during a meeting of coaches at Bridgewater-Raritan High School and the Montgomery High School softball team was awarded the No. 1 seed.
Two-time defending champion Watchung Hills took the No. 2 seed, Bridgewater-Raritan is No. 3 and Ridge is seeded No. 4. All four of those teams get byes into the quarterfinals.

The tournament begins Saturday with first-round games, as No. 10 through No. 15 seeds play. The second round is slated for April 29, with the quarterfinals set for May 6. The semifinals are Wednesday, May 10, with the final 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, May 13 at Torpey Field.

9-North Plainfield has a first-round bye, will face 8-Immaculata in second round, winner at 1-Montgomery
13-Pingry at 12-Manville, winner at 5-Somerville, winner at 4-Ridge
14-Franklin at 11-Bound Brook, winner at 6-Hillsborough, winner at 3-Bridgewater-Raritan
15-Rutgers Prep at 10-Mount St. Mary, winner at 7-Bernards, winner at 2-Watchung Hills
