HNT/GMC Boys Basketball Top 10

1. Linden (19-3): Linden has won three-straight games since falling to Montverde (Fla.) on Feb. 10, including a 58-27 victory over No. 8 Union in the Union County Tournament quarterfinals. Top-seeded Linden will face No. 4 St. Mary's (Eliz.) in the semifinals on Tuesday at Kean University and open state tournament play next week.

2. St. Joseph (Met.) (23-1): Since falling to Old Bridge on Feb. 7, St. Joseph has won four straight games, and averaged close to 80 points per game in those wins. The top-seeded in the GMC Tournament, the Falcons defeated No. 16 Edison and No. 9 Piscataway to advance to the semifinals on Wednesday at South Brunswick.

3. South Brunswick (21-3): South Brunswick has won five-straight games since falling to St. Joseph (Met.) on Feb. 4. The second-seeded Vikings defeated No. 15 Perth Amboy and No. 10 J.F. Kennedy to advance to Wednesday's GMC Tournament semifinals.

4. Sayreville (19-6): Sayreville had a seven-game win streak snapped with a loss to Wayne Hills on Feb. 14, but rebounded with two straight wins over No. 14 J.P. Stevens and No. 6 Carteret to advance to the GMC Tournament semifinals.

5. Old Bridge (16-8): Old Bridge had a four-game win streak snapped with a loss to fourth-seeded Woodbridge in the GMC Tournament quarterfinals. The fifth-seeded Knights had beaten No. 21 South River and No. 12 East Brunswick. Old Bridge will open state tournament play against North Brunswick next Monday.

6. Woodbridge (18-4): Woodbridge punched its ticket back to the GMC Tournament semifinals with a win over No. 5 Old Bridge, and will face top-seeded St. Joseph (Met.) in a rematch of last season's semifinal. The fourth-seeded Barrons beat No. 13 South Plainfield in the first round.

7. Rahway (17-3): Rahway had a 10-game win streak snapped with a loss to second-seeded Patrick School in the Union County Tournament quarterfinals. The 10th-seeded Indians had defeated No. 15 Hillside and No. 7 Westfield. Rahway will play Summit on Tuesday and Cranford on Thursday before the state tournament starts next week.

8. Bishop Ahr (14-9): Bishop Ahr had a three-game win streak snapped with a loss to 10th-seeded J.F. Kennedy in the GMC Tournament first round on Feb. 16. The Trojans had a game against Hunterdon Central on Monday and will have a week off before opening state tournament play against Union Catholic next Tuesday.

9. Carteret (18-7): Carteret has gone 2-2 in its last four games, with wins against South River and No. 22 Monroe in the GMC Tournament. The sixth-seeded Ramblers fell to third-seeded Sayreville in the quarterfinals on Sunday. Carteret will open state tournament play against Somerville next Tuesday.

10. Piscataway (13-9): Piscataway had a three-game win streak snapped with a loss to top-seeded St. Joseph (Met.) in the GMC Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday. The ninth-seeded Chiefs had defeated No. 24 Spotswood and No. 8 Perth Amboy Tech to advance. Piscataway will not play against until next week's state tournament.
