Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament

Perth Amboy 77, Timothy Christian 57: Fres Caberera recorded a double-double for No. 15 Perth Amboy (7-14) with 31 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and five steals. Joshua Cabezudo finished with 17 points and three rebounds. Joseph Malave added 15 points and two assists. For No. 18 Timothy Christian (16-4), Robert Saydee scored a team-high 21 points, including his 1,000th career point. Pierce Kokosinski scored 19 points. Perth Amboy will travel to No. 2 South Brunswick in the next round.

Edison 46, Colonia 45: Christian Wantong finished with 24 points, seven rebounds and three blocks for No. 16 Edison (10-13). Justin Turner tallied 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. For No. 17 Colonia (6-15), Luke Valeriano led with 11 points. Kristian Chapman and Connor Bevilacqua each scored 10 points. Edison will play top-seeded St. Joseph (Met.) on Thursday.

East Brunswick 77, South River 50: Brandon Rosethal scored 15 points to lift 12th-seeded East Brunswick (12-10). Joe Sampson added 13 points and Gil Wyman finished with 11 points. Jayvon Taylor led No. 21 South River (9-13) with 11 points. Derrick Whitaker scored 10 points. East Brunswick will play No. 5 Old Bridge in the next round.

Piscataway 93, Spotswood 53: Tyree Barba-Bey finished with 12 points as 14 different players scored to lead No. 9 Piscataway (12-8). Noah Freeney and Kyle Rios each scored 10 points. Andrew Fuzesi recorded a game-high 18 points for No. 24 Spotswood (6-18). Abdullah Nieskens added 13 points. Piscataway will face No. 8 Perth Amboy Tech on Thursday.

Monroe 64, North Brunswick 52: AK Patel recorded 18 points to pace No. 22 Monroe (5-14). Sashank Sindhia scored 14 points and Michael Kides added 11 points. Luke Patel chipped in 10 points. Adryan Salazar scored a game-high 19 points for No. 11 North Brunswick (10-11). Maneet Batra scored 13 points. Monroe will play No. 6 Carteret in the next round.

J.P. Stevens 32, New Brunswick 26: Elisha Smith scored 11 points to lift No. 14 J.P. Stevens (7-14). Tyrese Conover added seven points. Ahyan Brown-Miller led No. 19 New Brunswick (4-16) with nine points. J.P. Stevens will travel to No. 3 Sayreville on Thursday.

J.F. Kennedy 58, Metuchen 43: Bendji Pierre scored 22 points to pace No. 10 J.F. Kennedy (9-9). Peter Obertan added 13 points. For No. 23 Metuchen (10-12), Danny Flaherty led with 23 points. Thomas Christine scored 12 points. J.F. Kennedy will travel to No. 7 Bishop Ahr on Thursday.

Somerset County Tournament

Montgomery 57, Bernards 47: Matt Remsen led No. 7 Montgomery (10-10) with 14 points. Rohan Prakash scored 10 points. For No. 10 Bernards (17-4), Kyle Levine scored a game-high 15 points. Owen Loughlin tallied 11 points and Daniel Ball scored 10 points. Montgomery will travel to No. 2 Bridgewater-Raritan in teh quarterfinals on Thursday.

Bound Brook 46, Franklin 45: Tyson Amaker recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 5 Bound Brook (16-4). Kyle Frauenheim finished with 11 points and six rebounds. Noah Smith added 10 points, four rebounds and four assists. Francis Omowole led No. 12 Franklin (6-14) with 12 points. Christian James scored nine points. Bound Brook will travel to No. 4 Immaculata on Thursday.

Ridge 63, Hillsborough 50: Jeremy McCavera recorded a triple-double for No. 9 Ridge (10-12) with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 10 steals. Curtis Lyons scored 13 points and Chris Feringa added 10 points.

North Plainfield 72, Watchung Hills 66: Tony Godwin finished with 23 points and five rebounds for No. 6 North Plainfield (16-4). James Gardner recorded 20 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals. For No. 11 Watchung Hills (9-12), Gavin DeFuria led with 22 points. Dan Pilsbury scored 14 points. North Plainfield will play No. 3 Rutgers Prep in the quarterfinals.

Regular Season

Somerset Tech 65, Roselle Park 63 (OT): Junior Elijah Bowers scored a game-high 27 points for Somerset Tech (11-10), including his 1,000th career point. Bowers needed 24 points entering the game, and now has 1,003 points. He's the fifth player for Somerset Tech to reach the milestone.

"I didn't even know it happened, coach stopped the game and they made an announcement, it didn't feel real for a second," Bowers said. "I was very proud, at first I never though about it, I didn't come into high school thinking about but I started to get better and I made a huge jump from freshman to sophomore year and it just shows that I worked hard and it's starting to pay off. It feels great (to do it as a junior) because another year and I could lead all time."

Bowers also had five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Yakim Jean-Philippe finished with 14 points, nine rebounds and nine blocks for Somerset Tech.

North Warren 74, Dunellen 47: Tyje Kelton recorded a double-double for Dunellen (8-14) with 12 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and five steals. Oscar Caballero led with 19 points, four rebounds and two assists. Jibril Hagood-Henry chipped in eight points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Perth Amboy Tech 47, Manville 40: Javon Fisher led Perth Amboy Tech (18-3) with 12 points. Kyle Gregory and Miguel Hernandez each added 11 points. For Manville (8-15), Ramon Quinonez led with 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals. Ondra Mayfield finished with 13 points, two rebounds and three steals. Kehinde Ibironke chipped in 10 points, two rebounds and two steals.

Voorhees 74, Passaic Valley 56: Blair Felts led Voorhees (8-12) with a game-high 27 points, four rebounds and three steals. Adam Kenzari finished with 14 points. Kyle Kokoskie recorded 13 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Wayne Hills 83, Sayreville 78: Ope Olaloko scored 23 points for Sayreville (17-6). Xavier Townes added 21 points and Ryan O'Leary scored 15 points.

North Hunterdon 77, Morris Hills 67 (2OT): Andrew Berger and Michael DelSantro each scored 15 points as North Hunterdon (8-12) outscored Morris Hills 15-5 in the second overtime for the win. Paul Woolhouse and Nick Guasta each added 11 points.
