HNT/GMC Boys Basketball Top 10

1. Linden (10-2): Linden has won its last six games, including a statement victory over the Patrick School, a team the Tigers lost to earlier this season. Linden, which is averaging 67 points per game this season, will have another tough week, facing Roselle Catholic on Tuesday, St. Mary's (Eliz.) on Thursday and Parkland (Pa.) on Sunday.

2. St. Joseph (Met.) (14-0): St. Joseph still has yet to lose a game this season, picking up wins against East Brunswick, Piscataway and Lakewood last week. The reigning Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament champion is making a strong case for the No. 1 seed this year, and will look to remain perfect against Monroe on Tuesday, J.P. Stevens on Thursday and Neptune on Saturday.

3. Sayreville (11-5): Sayreville has gone 2-2 in its last four games, with losses against St. Mary's (Eliz.) and J.F. Kennedy, but bounced back from the JFK loss by handing Hunterdon Central its first loss of the season at the Investors Classic at Kean University last Friday. The Bombers will face Colonia on Tuesday, Edison on Thursday and Union City on Saturday

4. Piscataway (8-4): Piscataway had its seven-game win streak snapped with a 62-53 loss to undefeated St. Joseph (Met.) last Thursday. The Chiefs have a couple of GMC Red Division games this week, facing Old Bridge on Tuesday and South Brunswick on Thursday before playing Franklin at the Hoops for Troops Classic at Franklin on Saturday.

5. South Brunswick (11-2): South Brunswick has won its last three games against Bridgewater-Raritan, Old Bridge and Monroe since falling to St. Joseph (Met.) on Jan. 12. The Vikings will look to keep their winning streak going as the GMC Tournament seeding meeting approaches, with games against J.P. Stevens on Tuesday, Red Division opponent Piscataway on Thursday and Manchester Twp. on Saturday.

6. Carteret (14-2): Carteret is in the midst of a six-game win streak, and is averaging close to 60 points a game over that span. The Ramblers are still atop the Blue Division at 5-0 and Isaiah Daniels-Porter is currently leading the team with 14.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Carteret will face Blue Division foes Middlesex on Wednesday and Bishop Ahr on Friday.

7. Woodbridge (10-3): Woodbridge is another team that has gone 2-2 in its last four games, picking up wins against Edison and Immaculata and falling against Scotch Plains-Fanwood and Toms River North. The Barrons will look to get back on track against White Division opponents New Brunswick on Tuesday and rival Colonia on Thursday.

8. Old Bridge (9-6): Old Bridge has gone 1-3 in its last four games, falling against Red Division rivals St. Joseph (Met.) and South Brunswick and Howell. The Knights have more Red Division games on the horizon this week, as they face Piscataway on Tuesday and East Brunswick at home on Thursday before playing South Plainfield on Saturday.

9. Rahway (8-2): Rahway had a three-game win streak snapped with an overtime loss against Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Jan. 17. The Indians bounced back with a win over Summit, and will face three more UCC Valley Division opponents this week. They host Cranford on Tuesday, play Hillside on Thursday and travel to Gov. Livingston on Saturday.

10. Bishop Ahr (8-7): Bishop Ahr has won five of its last six games, with GMC Blue Division victories over Middlesex and J.F. Kennedy. In its last five wins, Bishop Ahr is averaging close to 60 points per game, and have big division games this week against Spotswood on Wednesday and Carteret on Friday.
