Welcome to MyCentralJersey.com’s Athlete of the Week poll. The Courier News and Home News Tribune Athlete of the Week polls have been merged this week, and we're including athletes from both coverage areas. 

We’ll write a feature story about the top vote-getter, so make your votes count. Voting closes Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The players who made our Week Three Player of the Week ballot can be found at the bottom of this story and are listed by sport. 

Nominations are based upon statistics available at press time.

GIRLS SOCCER: Samantha Moxie, Edison

Moxie finished with six goals and one assist last week. In a 2-1 overtime win against Colonia Moxie scored twice, and had two goals and one assist in a win over Woodbridge. She scored one goal in a double OT loss to Bishop Ahr and one goal in a shutout win against Perth Amboy.

GIRLS SOCCER: Amelia Kirby, Gill St. Bernard's

Kirby finished with three goals and two assists last week, recording one goal and two assists against Bound Brook, she scored the lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Belvidere and scored the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over South Hunterdon on Friday.

BOYS SOCCER: Zach Colgan, Sayreville

Colgan scored four goals in three games this past week, including the game-winner over North Brunswick. Colgan led the Bombers to GMC White Division wins over Woodbridge, North Brunswick and division leader Carteret.

BOYS SOCCER: Jack Dobosiewicz, Westfield

The senior tallied one goal and one assist in a win over Linden on Sept. 23, scored the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Elizabeth on Tuesday and finished with one assist in a win over Plainfield on Thursday.

FIELD HOCKEY: Kamryn Chaudry, Metuchen

Chaudry helped Metuchen go 1-0-1 last week, making a save in a 6-2 victory over Sayreville and 12 saves in a 0-0 overtime tie against South Plainfield. 

FIELD HOCKEY: Courtney Wellet, Voorhees

Wellet, who has 46 saves on the season, stopped six shots against an undefeated Bridgewater-Raritan team in a 2-1 overtime loss on Tuesday, and made two saves as Voorhees advanced in the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament on Thursday. 

GIRLS TENNIS: Elizabeth Yu, J.P. Stevens

Yu helped lead J.P. Stevens to its second GMC Tournament title in a row on Wednesday, winning the first singles title 6-2, 6-1. On Friday, she won at first singles 6-1, 6-0 as the Hawks defeated Piscataway 5-0. 

GIRLS TENNIS: Lucy Early & Leah Bremer, Westfield

The doubles team of Early and Bremer advanced the Union County Tournament final at second doubles, but fell to Summit 6-1, 6-3 as Westfield placed third as a team. 

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Jordyn Horowitz, East Brunswick

The senior helped East Brunswick go 3-0 last week. Against J.P. Stevens on Tuesday, Horowitz finished with three aces, 2 blocks, 2 digs and 11 kills, including her 500th career kill. Against Bridgewater-Raritan on Wednesday, she finished with 2 aces, eight kills, one block and seven digs. She had one kill against Perth Amboy on Thursday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Zoe Pan, Ridge

The senior finished with 11 assists as Ridge beat Rutgers Prep on Monday, then had two aces, 21 assists and three blocks in a victory over Bridgewater-Raritan. On Thursday Pan had 15 assists in a win over Hunterdon Central. 

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Chris Romero, Voorhees

On Saturday Romero won the Boys Varsity B race at the Stewart Invitational in a time of 15:32.17 as Voorhees took second place behind Pope John, 50-55. 

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Chris Smith, Edison

Smith won the Boys Varsity A race at the Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational on Saturday in a time of 16:21 as Edison placed sixth.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Laura Baeyens, Watchung Hills 

Baeyens placed second in 18:56.94 in the Girls Varsity A race at the Stewart Invitational on Saturday, leading Watchung Hills to the team title with 53 points. 

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Kayla Rosario, Sayreville

Rosario placed third in the Girls Varsity A race on Saturday at the Garret Invitational in a time of 19:56.

GYMNASTICS: Skylar Davisson, Bishop Ahr

Davisson won the all-around with 37.5 points and took first in the vault, balance beam and floor exercise as Bishop Ahr beat Old Bridge on Sept. 25. In a win over South Plainfield on Thursday, Davisson was second in the all-around and took first in the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise. 

GYMNASTICS: Alyssa Christopulos, Somerville

Christopulos won all five events during the dual meet with Bridgewater-Raritan on Wednesday. She scored a 9.25 in vault, a 9.55 on the uneven bars, a 9.225 on the balance beam, a 9.6 on the floor exercise and won the all-around with a 37.625.
