Ice Hockey: Ridge earns top seed in Skyland Cup

The Ridge High School ice hockey team was awarded the No. 1 seed for the Skyland Conference Cup on Monday.

Ridge (15-5-1) won last year's tournament with a 6-1 victory over Hunterdon Central, which garnered the No. 2 seed. Bridgewater-Raritan was given the third seed and Pingry is the fourth seed.

The Skyland Cup is scheduled to start this Friday, the semifinals are slated for Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Protec Ponds, and the final is scheduled for Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. at Protec Ponds.

8-Bernards/Somerville at 1-Ridge (Saturday at 7 p.m.); 7-Hillsborough at 2-Hunterdon Central (Friday at 6 p.m.); 6-Montgomery at 3-Bridgewater-Raritan (Friday at 3 p.m.); 5-Watchung Hills at 4-Pingry (Friday at 4:30 p.m.).
