Indoor Track: Ridge girls win North 2 Group IV title

The Ridge High School girls indoor track and field team won the NJSIAA North 2 Group IV sectional title on Saturday.

The Red Devils held off North Hunterdon, 108-50. Bridgewater-Raritan was fourth with 26 points.

Brooke Fazio won the 400 meter dash in 59.05, and the Red Devils took first in the 4x400 meter relay in 4:04.73. Jessica Creedon won the 55 meter hurdles in 8.58, and also won the high jump, clearing 5-4.

Also for Ridge, Catherine Giuseffi won the 800 meter run in 2:18.90. Cathy Jin won the shot put with a throw of 34-11.25.

North Hunterdon's Elena DiMarcello won both the 3200 meter run (11:08.58), and the 1600 meter run in 5:07.19.

Bridgewater-Raritan's Cristina Young, Heather Gaughran and Herveen Singh went 1-2-3 in the pole vault. Young won by clearing 10-6, Gaughran also cleared 5-6 and Singh cleared 9-feet.

On the boys side, Ridge was third with 28 points as East Orange took the title with 72 points. Westfield was fourth with 25 points.

North Hunterdon's Ray Sellaro won the 1600 in 4:22.60. Ridge's Will Phinney took first in the 800 meter run in 1:58.28. Brandon Kong of Bridgewater-Raritan won the pole vault with a jump of 13-6.
