Boys Basketball: Gill St. Bernard's earns No. 1 seed for Somerset County Tournament
The defending champion Gill St. Bernard's boys basketball team was named the No. 1 seed for the Somerset County Tournament on Wednesday night.
The Knights, which have won the title that last two seasons, earned a bye into the quarterfinals along with No. 2 Bridgewater-Raritan, third-seeded Rutgers Prep and fourth-seeded Immaculata.
BOYS BASKETBALL: UNION COUNTY TOURNAMENT SEEDS
Fifth-seeded Bound Brook, No. 6 North Plainfield, No. 7 Montgomery and eighth-seeded Hillsborough all earned byes into the second round.
The first round is scheduled to be completed by Saturday, and the second is to be played by Tuesday, Feb. 14. The quarterfinals are Thursday, Feb. 16 and the semifinals are set for Saturday, Feb. 18 at Montgomery. The final is Saturday, Feb. 25 at Franklin.

13-Pingry at 12-Franklin, winner at 5-Bound Brook, winner at 4-Immaculata

15-Manville at 10-Bernards, winner at 7-Montgomery, winner at 2-Bridgewater-Raritan.
