The Sayreville girls basketball team defeated GMC White Division rival Bishop Ahr 51-32 on Thursday.

1. Sayreville (8-1)Last week #4: The Bombers took control of sole possession of first place in the White Division with an impressive 51-32 rout of Bishop Ahr on Thursday. Sayreville has a tough road ahead, however, with games against East Brunswick and Woodbridge this week. Isi Enahoro (14.0 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, 7.9 steals per game) still leads the way for the Bombers while Ryane Brush (15 three-pointers) and Patrice Harding (12 three-pointers) are dangerous from long range.

2. South Brunswick (6-2)Last week #1: The Vikings had a tough stretch of games last week, and they emerged from the week bruised but not broken. They were routed by Piscataway and lost by two points to Bishop Ahr, but the Vikings topped East Brunswick 56-34 to salvage the week. Amber Brown continues to impress, averaging 21.2 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game.

3. Piscataway (5-4)Last week #7: With a convincing 58-43 victory over first-place South Brunswick on Tuesday, the Chiefs move up four spots in our rankings and remain in a four-way tie for first place in the Red Division. LaNiya Miller leads the way for Piscataway, averaging 18.6 pointers per game and 8.0 rebounds per game.

4. East Brunswick (6-1)Last week #2: They may have topped Red Division rival Old Bridge in a tight game, but the Bears were routed by South Brunswick by 21 points on Thursday. The Bears will look to rebound against some tough competition this week with games against Sayreville and Piscataway on deck. Nicole Johnson leads East Brunswick with 14.3 points per game.

5. Edison (6-2)Last week #5: Currently sitting in a four-way tie for first place in the Red Division, the Eagles will have their mettle tested over their next five games. Edison’s next five opponents have a combined record of 28-12. Madison Ruddy (23 three-pointers) and Samira Sargent (20 three-pointers) both are automatic from distance while Daniella Marmol (nine rebounds per game) controls the paint.

6. Woodbridge (6-1)Last week #3: Woodbridge’s undefeated start to the season ended with a 37-31 loss to White Division rival Bishop Ahr. Brooke Timinski (21 three-pointers) consistently knocks down shots from beyond the arc while point guard Jordan Vazquez (16.3 points per game) continues to impress after tearing her ACL last season.

7. Old Bridge (5-4)Last week #8: Freshman guard Rachel Kuhl knocked down eight three-pointers in Old Bridge’s 57-40 victory over Spotswood on Saturday. Amand Carney (18.9 points per game) joins Kuhl in the backcourt and spearheads the Knights’ potent 1-2 scoring threat.

8. Bishop Ahr (6-3)Last week #6: The Trojans fell to Sayreville and into second place in the White Division on Thursday, but they recovered nicely with a 47-45 victory over South Brunswick on Saturday. Freshman Emma Boslet leads Bishop Ahr with 14.2 points per game.

9. South River (8-1)Last week #10: The Rams have been red-hot on their current five-game winning streak and in the process topped Blue Division rival Middlesex 45-42 on Friday. South River is currently tied for first place in the Blue Division with Metuchen. Center Aleah Bass is averaging 10.1 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game.

10. Metuchen (5-4)Previously unranked: The Bulldogs ended a four-game losing streak with wins against Carteret and Mother Seton last week. Metuchen is tied for first place in the Blue Division with South River, but currently owns the tiebreaker. Freshman Brynn Farrell has been nothing short of dominant, averaging 25.7 points per game and 11.7 points per game.
