GMC FOOTBALL: Dunellen wins a thriller over Metuchen

Dunellen 40, Metuchen 33: Quarterback Mike Harmon rushed 22 times for 180 yards and four touchdowns including the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter as the Destroyers rallied for a thrilling win.

Joe Olsommer finished with 133 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries for Dunellen, which improved to 3-4.

Metuchen quarterback Will Hronich completed 17 of 28 passes for 255 yards and five touchdowns.

Dunellen amassed 341 rushing yards on 50 carries. Harmon completed 2 of 3 passes for 36 yards, both to Ciro Lowder.

The Bulldogs took a 33-32 lead on Hronich’s fifth scoring strike of the night midway through the fourth quarter.

Olsommer had given Dunellen a 32-26 leadwith his 2-yard touchdown run earlier in the quarter.

Harmon scored on runs of 5 and 2 yards in the first quarter as the Destroyers built a 16-0 lead. After Metuchen closed the deficit to 16-7, Harmon answered with his third touchdown run, a 2-yard keeper for a 24-7 advantage.

Hronich answered with three touchdown passes as Metuchen rallied for a 26-24 lead.

Baraka Yabidi carried seven times for 22 yards and Jason Watung had a six-yard run for Dunellen.
