1. South Brunswick (5-0) – Despite playing without ailing starting point guard Natalia Louhisdon, the Vikings have started 5-0 and sit atop the Red Division with East Brunswick. The Vikings notched an impressive 60-55 overtime victory over Old Bridge on opening night. Converted point guard Amber Brown is averaging 21.2 points per game in the early going.

2. East Brunswick (5-0) – With a 49-35 victory over Edison on opening night, the Bears remain tied for first place in the Red Division standings with South Brunswick. The Bears have a challenging slate of games this week, playing Old Bridge on Tuesday and South Brunswick on Thursday. Junior point guard Nicole Johnson leads the Bears with 13 points per game.

3. Woodbridge (6-0) – With senior point guard Jordan Vazquez (16.5 points per game) back from an ACL injury that kept her out all of last season, the first-place Barrons have been red hot to start the season. Junior sharp shooter Brooke Timinski has already sunk 20 3-pointers this season. The Barrons will face second-place Bishop Ahr on Tuesday.

4. Sayreville (5-1) – Tied for second place in the White Division with Bishop Ahr, the Bombers have proved they are one of the toughest teams in the GMC. The Bombers will host Bishop Ahr on Thursday in one of the biggest matchups thus far in the GMC. Senior Isi Enahoro is a do-everything type of player, averaging 13.7 points per game, 8.7 steals per game and 7.7 rebounds per game.

5. Edison (4-2) – The Eagles routed Piscaraway 60-39 last week and remain in second place in the Red Division. Edison possesses two deep threats in freshman Madison Ruddy (15 3-pointers) and sophomore Samira Saregent (14 3-pointers). Sophomore forward Daniella Marmol controls the paint and is averaging nine rebounds per game.

6. Bishop Ahr (4-2) – The Trojans endured a tough holiday tournament, falling to Rutgers Prep and Franklin, but the road ahead doesn’t get any easier as Bishop Ahr will play Woodbridge, Sayreville and South Brunswick in its next three games. Freshman Emma Boslet has impressed early on, averaging 14.3 points per game.

7. Piscataway (3-3) – They may have lost a ton to graduation, but the Chiefs are hanging in there and will have a chance to prove themselves in a matchup against first-place South Brunswick on Tuesday. Junior LaNiya Miller is leading the way for Piscataway, averaging 18.2 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game.

8. Old Bridge (3-3) – The Knights have produced inconsistent results thus far in the young season, but Old Bridge remains one of the most dangerous teams in the GMC. The Knights have a tough test against first-place East Brunswick slated for Tuesday. Amanda Carney (19.2 points per game) and freshman Rachel Kuhl (14.8 points per game) have both drained 14 shots from beyond the arc.

9. Middlesex (5-1) – Middlesex is yet another team that lost a ton to graduation but has adapted and won consistently in the early going. The Blue Jays sit atop the Blue Division and will play second-place South River on Thursday. Sophomore Carly Santucci leads the offense with 13.8 points per game while senior Candace DiNizo has knocked down 17 3-pointers.

10. South River (6-1) – It may be its first season in the Blue Division, but South River has found no trouble in the tougher division thus far. The second-place Rams will look to claim first place for themselves with a game against first-place Middlesex on Thursday. Senior center Aleah Bass is a double-double threat every game, averaging 9.7 points per game and 10 rebounds per game.
