Colonia 24, Perth Amboy 0: Luke Pero rushed for two touchdowns to lead the Patriots (7-2) to their fifth consecutive victory.

During its winning streak, Colonia has limited five opponents to a total of 30 points, or six points per game.

With the victory, Colonia, which entered this weekend’s action with the third most power points in North 2 Group IV, appears to have secured for itself a first-round home playoff game next weekend.

Perth Amboy (3-5), which could have assured itself of its first NJSIAA playoff berth in school history with a win, still has an outside chance to qualify for the postseason, but needs a lot of help. The Panthers entered this weekend’s action with the ninth most power points in Central Group V.

Gianfranco Tiseo booted a 29-yard field goal and converted all three of his extra-point attempts for Colonia.

Quarterback Taj-Calvin Johnson scored on a 32-yard run for the Patriots. Pero’s touchdown runs were of 18 and 2 yards.

Perth Amboy quarterback Tahjmere O’Neal completed 8 of 18 passes for 108 yards. Teammate Tyler Jack finished with 66 yards from scrimmage, 48 of which came on the ground.

Brandon Seijo had three catches for 52 yards for the Panthers.
