Brazicki surpasses 1,500-yard rushing mark for seaosn in Bishop Ahr football team's loss to DePaul
Senior running back Andrew Brazicki eclipsed the 1,500-yard mark on the season, rushing for 40 yards on 16 carries in the Bishop Ahr High School football team’s 42-0 loss to DePaul in the opening round of the Non-Public Group III playoffs on Friday night.
The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for the seventh-seeded Trojans (7-3), who finished the season undefeated in the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division with a 6-0 record.
Bishop Ahr’s only other losses were to Shore Conference foes Point Pleasant Beach and Shore Regional, a three-time defending sectional champion.
The Trojans were making their return to the postseason following a two-year hiatus. Bishop Ahr has now lost its last six postseason contests – all to perennial state powers – by a combined score of 284-32, or by an average 42-point margin of defeat.
Bishop Ahr’s playoff record illustrates the disparity between the North Jersey parochial school powers and their peers from the rest of the state.
