Saturday's local football results in the Mid-State 38 Conference
Rahway 54, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 35: Quarterback Cooper Heisey threw for 401 yards and five touchdowns for Scotch Plains-Fanwood, but the Raiders were outscored 27-0 in the second quarter and that proved to be the difference. Dwight Laylor hauled in nine catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns, while Isaiah Stewart caught nine passes for 92 yards and a score for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (0-7). Rahway is 5-1.
Elizabeth 42, Plainfield 14: Nahseem Woodard broke off touchdown runs of 75 and 25 yards, respectively, for Plainfield. Antwan Boone was a perfect 2-for-2 kicking extra points for the Cardinals (0-7).
Belvidere 42, Pingry 6: Joe Shilts hit Ryan Geller with a 12-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to get Pingry on the board. The Big Blue fall to 2-5. Belvidere is 6-1.
