GMC Tournament first round

St. Joseph (Met.) 4, East Brunswick Tech 0: Nick Cruz finished with two goals and one assist to lead No. 9 St. Joseph (10-6-2) into the GMC Tournament quarterfinals. Antonio Oliveira tallied one goal and one assist. Matthew Pinho also scored. Tour'e Reaves and Dan DiSarro each added assists. Christian Owens made five saves. For No. 8 East Brunswick Tech (11-5-1), Troy Bello made 12 saves. St. Joseph will host No. 16 Sayreville in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Union County Tournament semifinals

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 4, Cranford 0: Patrick Ellman tallied one goal and one assist as top-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood (16-2) advanced to the UCT final with a win over No. 4 Cranford. Robert Devine-Gelling, Andrew Murray and Tommy DiVizio also scored. John Murphy, Ryan Peterson and Alex Ferrara each had one assist. Sean Murray made one save. The Raiders will face No. 2 Westfield in the final at Kean University on Saturday.

Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament semifinals

Hunterdon Central 4, Newton 0: Evan Youshock tallied one goal and one assist to lead third-seeded Hunterdon Central (12-1) over No. 2 Newton (12-3) in the H/W/S Tournament semifinals. Martin Menendez, Matt Tetreault and Josh Bordwick also scored. Alessandro Truppi had one assist. Dan Mecadon made six saves.

Regular Season

North Plainfield 2, Franklin 1: Ronaldo Garcia scored the game-winner on a penalty kick with 12 minutes left in the game to lead North Plainfield (13-2). Kenny Navas scored on an assist from Eric Acosta. For Franklin (5-11), Juan Peral Carino scored on an assist from Cameron Consiglio.

North Hunterdon 2, Delaware Valley 1 (OT): Joey Steitz led North Hunterdon (6-8) with one goal and one assist. Mark Winter also scored. Tyler Monsell added one assist. Tyler Peragallo made six saves. For Delaware Valley (6-12), Anthony Fancera scored. Justin Wagner finished with 11 saves.
