GMC Girls Soccer Top 10

1. East Brunswick (10-2-2)Last week No. 1: They may have received the second seed in the GMC Tournament, but the Bears remain at the top of our rankings. East Brunswick notched a tough 4-3 victory over Piscataway on Friday and then tied Notre Dame 2-2 on Saturday. Sabria Glasgow leads the Bears with 11 goals.

2. Old Bridge (9-3-1)Last week No. 2: The Knights were named the top seed in the GMC Tournament last Friday after winning five of their last six games. Old Bridge topped a tough Spotswood squad 2-1 on Friday.

3. Piscataway (8-4-1)Last week No. 3: Despite losing to East Brunswick on Friday, the Chiefs were named the fourth seed in the GMC Tournament. Lela Allen has netted 10 goals and Kaitlyn Zeeb has scored nine times for the Chiefs.

4. South Brunswick (6-5-1)Last week No. 4: The up-and-down Vikings were named the ninth seed in the GMC Tournament this week. Adrianna Mousakis leads South Brunswick with nine goals.

5. Bishop Ahr (12-2)Last week No. 6: The Trojans clinched at least a share of the White Division title with a 2-0 victory over Sayreville on Thursday. Bishop Ahr was named the third seed in the GMC Tournament.

6. Monroe (6-8-1)Last week No. 10: The surging Falcons topped Delran 5-2 on Monday and then routed Metuchen 5-1 on Wednesday. The Falcons were named the sixth seed in the GMC Tournament despite their initial slow start to the season.

7. Sayreville (11-3)Last week No. 5: The Bombers lost out on the outright White Division with a 2-0 loss to Bishop Ahr on Thursday and the lost 6-3 to Edison on Saturday. Sayreville was named the fifth seed in the GMC Tournament.

8. Edison (11-5)Last week unranked: The Eagles routed White Division foes Sayreville 6-3 on Saturday to extend their winning streak to five games. Edison earned the 13th seed in the GMC Tournament.

9. Metuchen (11-4)Last week No. 8: After losing 5-1 to Monroe on Wednesday, the Bulldogs rebounded with a 5-2 victory over North Brunswick on Friday. Metuchen earned the seventh seed in the GMC Tournament.

10. Woodbridge (11-5)Last week No. 9: The Barrons dropped two tough games to Bishop Ahr and Sayreville early in the week, but rebounded with two 5-0 victories against North Brunswick and J.F. Kennedy. Woodbridge is the 12th seed in the GMC Tournament.

Dropped from the rankings: Spotswood (8-5)

Also receiving consideration: Highland Park (14-2), Middlesex (9-6), Timothy Christian (13-2-1), Wardlaw-Hartridge (7-9)
