Down 22-6 to Dunellen (0-7) with 5:45 left in the game, sophomore quarterback Will Hronich led a Bulldogs (2-5) no-huddle attack to forge a 22-22 tie with 3:14 remaining. Linebacker Willie Rojas then returned an errant Dunellen pass for a 58-yard interception and the go-ahead score for a thrilling 28-22 come-from-behind victory for Metuchen.

Hronich finished 11-of-22 and threw two touchdowns to Devin Miller. One was for six yards and the other for 35 yards, followed by a Justin Briggs 2-point conversion making the score 22-14. Miller also caught a 33-yard pass to set up a 2-yard Willie Rojas touchdown run followed by a Hronich 2-point conversion, which tied the game in the fourth quarter. Miller finished with six catches for 110 yards.

Dunellen got on the board first after a scoreless first half with halfback Mike Harmon busting a 63-yard run, which was followed by his own 2-point conversion run putting Dunellen up 8-0 in the third quarter. Metuchen would close to within 8-6 on Miller’s 6-yard touchdown catch with the Bulldog 2-point conversion pass falling incomplete. Harmon would score again on a 48-yard run and another successful 2-point conversion putting the Destroyers up 16-6 at the end of the third quarter. He would score again on a 3-yard run, however, the 2-point conversion failed as Dunellen led 22-6 with 5:45 to go in the game, thus setting up the Hronich heroics.
