Manville 28, Brearley 21: Steven Garcia punched it in from two yards out late in the fourth quarter for the go-ahead score as Manville improved to 4-2. Garcia also caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Shane Demeter, who finished with two passing touchdowns and added a 41-yard rushing touchdown. Dylan Whitenight had a one-yard touchdown reception.

Westfield 13, Elizabeth 7: Senior quarterback Phil Martini scored on an eight-yard run in the third quarter, and hit Adam McDaniel with a 19-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter and Westfield clinched the championship of the Mid-State 38 Watchung Division. The Blue Devils ran their state-best winning streak to 20 games with the victory, improving to 6-0 on the season. Elizabeth (3-3) got a Chris McCary-to-Angel Melendez touchdown pass with 50 seconds left in the contest to get on the scoreboard.

FOOTBALL: Ridge dominates all three facets to shutout Immaculata

Hunterdon Central 17, Hillsborough 16: Derek Scott connected on a 27-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter as Hunterdon Central rallied for a wild Mid-State 38 Delaware Division victory in a back-and-forth game. Hillsborough (3-3) opened the scoring, getting a four-yard first-quarter touchdown pass from Matt Moore to Jackson Parham. The Raiders then added a safety in the second quarter, before Central (3-3) pulled ahead on second-quarter touchdowns from Anthony Valentino on a 69-yard interception return, and Frank DePaola, who caught a five-yard scoring pass from Christian Shaw. Hillsborough retook the lead in the third quarter on a four-yard Moore-to-Jake Pollak hookup, before Scott’s fourth-quarter heroics.

Montgomery 24, Warren Hills 8: Quarterback Michael Patrizio completed 11-of-18 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns for Montgomery (3-3). Patrizio also added a 62-yard receiving touchdown, while picking up 61 yards on the ground on 10 carries. Messiah Divine rushed 13 times for 87 yards. Wide receiver Danny Young finished with 45 receiving yards and contributed on the defensive display with an interception. Jake Schiavo had three catches for 52 yards.

Bridgewater-Raritan 21, Linden 0: David Usewick scored two rushing touchdowns as Bridgewater-Raritan improved to 6-0. Ray Bellaran also scored. Justin Davidovicz kicked three extra points. Linden fell to 1-4.

Union 27, Franklin 10: Antonio Scott scored for Franklin (0-5) on a one-yard run in the second quarter. Helal Helal kicked a field goal and an extra point.

Delaware Valley 21, Voorhees 7: Sean Lessig scored all three touchdowns for Delaware Valley (3-3). He scored twice on runs of 49 and 29 yards, and scored on a 74-yard pass from Jared Pershyn. He also kicked three extra points. Will Rodenberger scored on a 12-yard pass from George Eberle for Voorhees (1-5). Eberle also kicked the extra point.

North Hunterdon 31, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 24: Mitch Finnegan ran for 190 yards and two touchdowns and Matt Busher added 55 rushing yards and two scores to fuel North Hunterdon (4-2), which scored all its points in the opening half. Isaiah Stewart caught three touchdown passes from Cooper Heisey for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (0-6). The Raiders also got a 22-yard field goal from Max Toll, who was a perfect 3-for-3 kicking extra points.

Old Bridge 24, Piscataway 20: Nick Sodano scored three touchdowns in the final five minutes as Old Bridge rallied for a dramatic comeback victory over previously unbeaten Piscataway. Senior running back Elijah Barnwell’s second touchdown run of the game with just over a minute remaining gave the Chiefs (5-1) a 20-17 lead. Sodano answered with his 42-yard scoring jaunt 49 seconds later to produce the final margin. The victory was Old Bridge’s first since 2012 over Piscataway, which had outscored the Knights 84-14 in the two previous meetings between the schools.The Chiefs, who built a 13-3 lead on Barnwell’s 6-yard scoring jaunt and Brevin Donerson’s 85-yard interception return, squandered their 10-point cushion as the Knights struck for two scores to take a 17-13 lead.
