1. Monroe (8-1-1): After winning its first seven games, Monroe was dealt a 2-1 loss by South Brunswick on Sept. 27. The Falcons bounced back with a 2-0 win over East Brunswick, then battled to a 0-0 tie with Old Bridge. Monroe will look to keep its winning ways going with games against Piscataway on Thursday and J.P. Stevens on Saturday.

2. New Brunswick (7-1-2): The Zebras had a six-game winning streak snapped with a 4-1 loss to Monroe back on Sept. 24 but won their next three games by a combined 14-3. New Brunswick will have a tough test against East Brunswick on Thursday, then will host Old Bridge on Saturday morning.

3. South Brunswick (7-3): South Brunswick saw its four-game win streak snapped with a 5-1 loss to New Brunswick on Sept. 29 but won its next game against Perth Amboy to get back on track. The Vikings will host St. Joseph on Saturday and then travel to East Brunswick on Monday.

4. Old Bridge (5-4-2): After starting the season 2-4, Old Bridge has gone 4-0-1 in its last five games, with a 3-1 win over East Brunswick and a 0-0 tie against Monroe. The Knights will look to keep adding to the win column when they host St. Joseph on Thursday and travel to New Brunswick on Saturday.

5. East Brunswick (5-4-1): East Brunswick has gone 2-2 in its last four games, with losses coming at the hands of Old Bridge and Monroe. The Bears will look to start a new win streak when they host New Brunswick on Thursday and travel to Perth Amboy on Saturday.

6. South Plainfield (10-2): South Plainfield has gone on a tear since starting the season 1-2, winning its last nine games by a combined 27-4 with six shutouts. The Tigers will host Sayreville on Thursday before hosting a Courier News Top 10 team, Westfield, on Saturday.

7. St. Joseph (4-3-2): The Falcons have also gone 2-2 in their last four games, falling to Monroe and New Brunswick. St. Joseph will travel to Old Bridge on Thursday and then face South Brunswick on Saturday.

8. Edison (6-4-1): After starting the season 6-1-1, the Eagles have lost their last three games, falling to Woodbridge, J.F. Kennedy and South Plainfield, scoring only one goal in those three contests. Edison will look to get back on track when it hosts North Brunswick on Thursday and then will close out the regular season against Carteret (Oct. 11) and Colonia (Oct. 13).

9. North Brunswick (7-3-1): The Raiders snapped a two-game skid with a 3-1 win over J.F. Kennedy on Tuesday and will look to keep it going against Edison on Thursday and at Robbinsville on Saturday.

10. Woodbridge (7-3-1): The Barrons had gone 3-0-1 before a 3-1 loss to South Plainfield on Tuesday. Woodbridge will look to get back on track as it travels to Carteret on Thursday and Sayreville on Oct. 11. 

Also receiving consideration this week: South River, Metuchen, Spotswood.
