GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bridgewater-Raritan 57, East Brunswick 42: Teresa Wolak scored 20 points and Meghan Ball added 14 points as Bridgewater-Raritan handed East Brunswick its first loss of the season. Katie Kowal chipped in 11 points for the Panthers (11-3). Alyssa Bondi scored 18 points and Nicole Johnson scored 13 points, including the 1,000th of her career, for the Bears (14-1).

Westfield 51, New Providence 35: Faith Dobosiewicz scored 14 points and Molly Ryan chipped in 13 points to send Westfield (10-5). Lila Maz netted 10 points in the victory. Alexa Boyle tallied 15 points and Alyssa Nook scored nine points for New Providence (5-13).

Hillsborough 70, Colonia 39: Dani Pescatore and Olivia Buckman tallied 13 points apiece as Hillsborough rolled. Payton Quackenbush chipped in 11 points for the Raiders (7-7). Caitlyn Hroncich scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Colonia (3-11), while Alexa Magliacano netted 11 points and Brianna Rennie added 10 points.

J.P. Stevens 58, North Brunswick 43: Megan Duffy scored 22 points and Kiarah Turner added 17 points to propel J.P. Stevens. Disha Prabhudesai contributed 13 points for the Hawks (9-6). Khayla Flemmings netted 14 points and Cynthia Williams added eight points for the Raiders (7-8).

Edison 62, South Plainfield 37: Samira Sargent dropped in 28 points and Lourdes Marasigan added 14 points to fuel Edison (7-9). Mackenzie O’Brien notched 18 points and 18 rebounds for the Tigers (6-10).

Spotswood 61, Monroe 47: Maddie Gellerick just missed a triple-double, finishing with 12 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, as Spotswood improved to 12-4. Erin Malin chipped in 12 points eight rebounds, eight blocks and seven steals for the Chargers, while Savannah Robinson helped out with 11 points. Madison Carey scored 22 points and Angela Oskierko added 12 points for Monroe (5-11).

Middlesex 41, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 37: Gianna Canavescio scored 14 points and Carly Santucci chipped in 12 points and six rebounds to fuel Middlesex (15-0). Corrine Lyght tallied 10 points and five rebounds and Nya Downing added nine points and 16 rebounds for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (10-5).

New Brunswick 41, Lawrence 31: Aniyah Thomas tallied 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five steals, and Brehanna Chang scored seven points for New Brunswick (6-9).

North Plainfield 44, Perth Amboy Tech 33: Kierra Adams tallied 21 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Kelisha Chambers notched seven points and 13 rebounds to lead North Plainfield (4-9).

Allentown 64, South Brunswick 36: Cassie Vega tallied 10 points and eight rebounds and Jannah Abdelhamid added six points and five boards for South Brunswick (9-6).

Dayton 68, Plainfield 54: Jailah White scored 19 points and J’Daah Wyatt-Doyle added 13 points, but Plainfield fell to 9-6.

Montgomery 69, Nottingham 45: Bria Johnson scored 19 points and dished out five assists, and Dana Schaar netted 16 points as Montgomery improved to 12-3. Carolyn Prevost chipped in nine points and eight rebounds for the Cougars.

Union Catholic 32, Cranford 27: Madison Johnson posted 13 points and five rebounds and Izzy DiDario notched nine points and nine boards to power Union Catholic. Erin McNulty chipped in eight points in the victory.

Pingry 60, Peddie 45: Kelsey Ransom poured in 30 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and swiped nine steals and Megan Horn added 21 points, 10 boards and five steals as Pingry won its 10th. Alyson Freeley chipped in 10 rebounds for the Big Blue (10-4).

Bound Brook 64, Immaculata 42: Cortlyn Morris posted a triple-double, tallying 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks, as Bound Brook rolled. Cameron Ward added 14 points, five rebounds and five assists, and Jordan Todaro chipped in 14 points and five assists for the Crusaders (13-1). Julia Nilsen helped out with 12 points and five rebounds in the victory. Naiya Jefferson scored 10 points and Margo Cherry added eight points for Immaculata (3-13).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 59, Summit 57 (OT): Jack Brady scored 21 points and Ryan Muench added 18 points as Scotch Plains-Fanwood won it in overtime. Tommy Drubulis contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders (13-2).

Woodbridge 47, Colonia 46: Kemari Persol scored 13 points and Curtis Nesbit added 12 points as Woodbridge rallied to improve to 8-7. The Barrons trailed by six entering the fourth quarter. Kristian Chapmann scored 12 points and Chad Baker added nine points for Colonia (8-8).

Bridgewater-Raritan 58, Somerville 48: Aaron Gao netted 15 points and Sterling White and Justin Bryant each scored 12 points to send Bridgewater-Raritan (8-6). Dan Banz tallied 10 points in the victory. Chris Elwood and Cameron Hall each scored nine points to pace Somerville (3-12).

Watchung Hills 58, Plainfield 44: Steven Bressler netted 17 points and Dan Pilsbury added 16 points for Watchung Hills (11-5). Gavin DeFuria scored 11 points and Chad Martini added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Dante McCray scored 16 points, Jalil Lee netted 11 points and Romey Talley notched 10 points for Plainfield (7-9).

Monroe 63, Spotswood 50: Michael Kides scored 15 points, while Sashank Sindhia and Luke Patel each netted 13 points, as Monroe improved to 5-11. Matt Vento notched 18 points to pace Spotswood (9-8).

Edison 57, J.F. Kennedy 43: Abu Kaikai tallied 20 points and eight rebounds and Alkeim Raines added 12 points and five steals to propel Edison (10-8). Christian Wangton scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in the victory. Dennis Howard scored 25 points for J.F. Kennedy (0-17).

Perth Amboy 56, Bayonne 46: Joshua Cabezudo tallied 22 points and six rebounds and Luis Bonilla added 12 points and five assists to spark Perth Amboy (7-9).

Henry Hudson 71, South Amboy 63: Grady Hendrickson scored 15 points and Ryan Matlaga added 12 points for South Amboy (2-16). Jay Anthony and Kyle Santiago each scored 10 points in the victory.

Immaculata 73, Bound Brook 60: BJ Honis scored 19 points and Jared Chambliss added 15 points to lead Immaculata. Stephen Dwyer had 12 points and Luke Medley chipped in 11 points for the Spartans. Bound Brook was led by 21 points from Jayden Hill and 17 from Kyle Frauenheim.

Gill St. Bernard's 51, Sidwell Friends (DC): TJ Chaney led Gill St. Bernard's (12-3) with 14 points. Paul Mulcahy scored 13 points and Alex Schachne added 10 points. 

Hunterdon Central 59, Toms River North 56 (OT): Sean Oberman scored 17 points to lead Hunterdon Central (9-6). Sam Johnson finished with 12 points. David Johansson scored 11 points. 

Delaware Valley 77, Kittatinny 46: Joe Cansfield recorded a double-double with 13 points, 15 assists, eight rebounds and two steals for No. 13 Delaware Valley (8-7) in the first round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament. Jack Skibinski finished with 16 points, six rebounds and one assist. Brett Godown added 13 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Delaware Valley will travel to fourth-seeded Newton in the second round. 

South Hunterdon 68, Sussex Tech 53: Eric Myers scored a game-high 28 points for No. 11 South Hunterdon (11-5) in the first round of the H/W/S Tournament. Jack Myers recorded 14 points and Logan Conner added 10 points. South Hunterdon will face No. 6 North Hunterdon in the second round. 

New Providence 82, Brearley 41: Greg Meyers led New Providence (12-3) with 20 points, four steals, two rebounds, one steal and one assist. Dylan Bedder finished with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. Richie Wawzycki added 13 points, four rebounds and one assist. 

Pingry 73, Manville 40: Zach Aanstoots finished with a game-high 29 points for Pingry (3-11). Nathan Hefner added 11 points. For Manville (3-10), Jason Brennan recorded a double-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and three steals. Nasir Peek added 16 points, six rebounds, six steals, five assists and two blocks. Antonio McFadden chipped in 10 rebounds. 

J.P. Stevens 71, Sayreville 43: Tyrese Conover led J.P. Stevens (8-8) with 24 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Elisha Smith finished with 22 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists. For Sayreville (12-6), Zac Kaczmarek recorded nine points. Derek Astarita scored eight points. 

Union 56, East Brunswick 34: Travis Cumber scored 13 points for East Brunswick (8-8). Joe Sampson scored 12 points on four 3-pointers. 

Westfield 56, Hillsborough 31: Matt Crowley finished with 12 points to lead Westfield (4-13). Griffin Rooney scored nine points. Justin Brown led Hillsborough (5-10) with six points. 

Rahway 61, Gov. Livingston 29: Nicolas Galette recorded a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds for Rahway (15-0). Keyshawn Cummings scored 20 points and Zion Pendleton added 13 points. 

ICE HOCKEY

Bridgewater-Raritan 5, Watchung Hills 1: Jake Goldstein and Jake Gottlieb each finished with two goals and two assists for Bridgewater-Raritan (10-5-3). Jon Flaim also scored. Trevor Meixsell and Brett Locker each had one assist. Matt Flaim made 13 saves. For Watchung Hills (3-11-1), Cole Hanan scored on an assist from Vin Marino. Nate Joglekar made 35 saves. 

South Brunswick 8, Edison 2: Michael Castiello scored five goals to lead South Brunswick (8-6). Vincent Zhang added one goal and two assists. Joseph Inzano and Harin Ponna also scored. Matthew Kean and Cole Armstrong each finished with three assists. Thomas Bansbach had one assist. Brian McNicholas made one save. For Edison (0-17-1), Christian Osma scored twice. Jakob Cherry and Jared Manley each had one assist. William Dominic made 24 saves and Aiden McKenna made seven saves.
