Boys Basketball: This week's HNT/GMC Top 10

Here is the latest Home News Tribune and Greater Middlesex Conference Top 10 for boys basketball.

1. Linden (12-4): Linden snapped a two-game skid with a 62-49 victory over Plainfield on Tuesday. Tavon Jones leads the team with 24.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.7 steals per game. The Tigers played Trenton Catholic on Thursday and will face Quality Education Academy on Saturday at Stockton University.

2. St. Joseph (Met.) (14-3): St. Joseph has won three in a row over Monroe, J.P. Stevens and Perth Amboy and is currently atop the Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division at 10-1. The Falcons had a rematch against Perth Amboy on Thursday and will travel to South Brunswick on Saturday.

BOYS BASKETBALL: CARTERET OVERTAKES BISHOP AHR IN GMC BLUE

3. Piscataway (14-3): Piscataway bounced back from a loss to Old Bridge on Jan. 23 with wins over South Brunswick and Lakewood. The Chiefs traveled to Monroe on Thursday and will host East Brunswick on Saturday.

4. Carteret (15-4): Carteret had a 10-game win streak snapped with a loss to Mater Dei on Saturday, but bounced back with an overtime win against Metuchen on Wednesday. The Ramblers, now in first place in the GMC Blue Division at 10-1, returns to action on Monday against South River. 

5. Old Bridge (12-5): Old Bridge had a four-game win streak snapped with a loss to East Brunswick last Thursday. The Knights defeated Bishop Ahr by one point, 69-68, on Tuesday and will look to keep the winning going against J.P. Stevens on Thursday and Monroe on Saturday.

6. Bishop Ahr (13-4): Bishop Ahr had a three-game losing streak snapped with a win over South Plainfield on Wednesday. The Trojans will face Metuchen at home on Friday and travel to Middlesex on Monday.

7. Rahway (16-0): Rahway remains undefeated with six regular season games remaining. In its last three games, Rahway has averaged close to 70 points per game and will look to keep the streak going against New Providence on Friday and Oratory Prep on Saturday.

8. East Brunswick (8-8): East Brunswick has gone 1-2 in its last three games, with a win over Old Bridge and losses to Perth Amboy and Union. The Bears will look to get back on track against South Brunswick on Thursday and Piscataway on Saturday.

9. J.P. Stevens (8-8): J.P. Stevens has gone 2-1 in its last three games, with wins over Sayreville and South Brunswick and a loss to St. Joseph (Met.). The Hawks have a test against Old Bridge on Thursday and will play at Perth Amboy on Saturday.

10. Sayreville (12-6): Sayreville has hit a skid, losing its last four games against Rahway, Colonia, Edison and J.P. Stevens. The Bombers will look to get back on track against Woodbridge on Saturday.

10. Edison (11-8): Edison has won its last four games against Steinert, Sayreville, J.F. Kennedy and Monroe. The Eagles will look to keep the wins coming against North Brunswick on Thursday and Freehold Boro on Saturday.
