GIRLS BASKETBALL

Woodbridge 56, New Brunswick 45: Brooke Timinski scored the 1,000th point of her career, adding seven rebounds and seven assists, as Woodbridge rolled.

Timinski achieves the milestone against New Brunswick, exactly 28 years to the day after her father, former Colonia standout Bobby Timinski, scored his 1,000th against the Zebras. Brooke’s mother, Heidi Waterman Timinski, was also a star basketball player, finishing her career at Shore Regional with 1,601 points.

Kameron De Vogd finished with 21 points, six rebounds and nine blocks to lead the Barrons (9-5), while Aliyah Santos chipped in 14 points and Tamirah Gibbs netted 10. Aniyah Thomas scored 18 points and Nakima Lue added 11 points to pace the Zebras (4-8).

Brooke Timinski scored her 1,000th point Tuesday, a milestone also passed by her parents, Bobby, who starred for Colonia, and Heidi, a former Shore Regional standout

Rutgers Prep 58, Gill St. Bernard’s 17: Leilani Correa notched 11 points as six rebounds, and Chiara Tibbitt added 11 points as top-ranked Rutgers Prep stayed undefeated in Skyland Conference action. The Argonauts are 11-2, while No. 4 Gill St. Bernard’s is 6-3.

Watchung Hills 62, North Hunterdon 40: Julia Cunningham went for 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists, and Mahogany Jenkins notched 13 points and six rebounds to lead Watchung Hills (12-1). Alex Santo also netted 13 points in the victory. Maria Newsome scored 10 points to pace North Hunterdon (3-9).

Westfield 51, Bayonne 28: Grace Elliott tallied 11 points and six steals, and Emma Pietrewicz added 10 points to send Westfield (8-5). Faith Dobosiwicz chipped in five points and rebounds for the Blue Devils.

Sayreville 46, Colonia 25: Jackie Ventricelli scored 20 points and swiped five steals and Janeva Holland added 12 points and 12 rebounds to send Sayreville (9-5). Serina Townes grabbed 11 rebounds in the victory. Caitlyn Hronicich scored 11 points to pace Colonia (2-10).

North Brunswick 38, J.F. Kennedy 26: Khayla Flemmings scored 13 points and Kayla Scher added 10 points to spark North Brunswick (6-7). Olivia Sims scored eight points to pace the Mustangs (1-13).

Bishop Ahr 65, South Plainfield 35: Emma Boslet recorded a double-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, and Megan Herka and Sara Decker contributed 13 points and 10 points, respectively, as Bishop Ahr cruised to 16-0. Mackenzie O’Brien notched a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds for South Plainfield (6-8).

Plainfield 66, Hillside 37: Helms Ismael led all scorers with 20 points and 10 boards, and Jailah White and J’Daah Wyatt-Doyle each added 17 points to fuel Plainfield. The Cardinals are 8-5. 

South Brunswick 39, J.P. Stevens 37: Alexis Adams scored 15 points and Luese Ufuah added nine points to send South Brunswick (9-4). Megan Duffy scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Hawks (7-6).

Hillsborough 68, Immaculata 31: Dani Pescatore scored 13 points and Elissa Nsenkyire added 10 points to power Hillsborough (6-6). Peyton Quackenbush and Alyssa Freda each chipped in seven points for the Raiders. Naiya Jefferson scored 10 points to pace Immaculata (3-11).

South Hunterdon 36, North Plainfield 35: Nicole Costantini scored nine points and Kate Robinson added eight points as South Hunterdon claimed victory to improve to 2-11. Kayla Adams netted 15 points and Kierra Adams added eight points and eight rebounds for the Canucks (2-9).

Montgomery 45, Ridge 35: Carolyn Prevost tallied 13 points and eight rebounds and Kristin Lucht added 12 points and five boards to spark Montgomery (10-3). Maddy West scored 12 points and Sophie Beneventine chipped in 11 points for Ridge (7-7).

Somerville 48, Mount St. Mary 26: Anna McVerry led the way with 13 points and eight rebounds as Somerville improved to 12-3. Emily Markowski posted a double-double for the Pioneers, netting 11 points and nabbing 15 rebounds. Cassidy Connett and Alexis Brown each scored six points to pace the Mount Lions (9-4).

Piscataway 67, Old Bridge 27: LaNiya Miller scored 19 points and Ariel Jenkins tallied 15 points and 12 rebounds to spark Piscataway (13-2). Yamirah Bennett delivered 10 points and five assists in the victory. Jessica Aheard scored 10 points to pace the Knights (4-10).

Belvidere 43, Manville 23: Holly Cornelson scored six points and Sioni Robinson added five points and nine rebounds for Manville (7-7).

Bridgewater-Raritan 47, Phillipsburg 33: Teresa Wolak led Bridgewater-Raritan with 15 points as the Panthers improved to 9-2. Keiko Fox and Meghan Ball each chipped in nine points in the win.

Cranford 52, New Providence 24: Alyssa Nook scored nine points to pace New Providence (4-12).

Bound Brook 51, Bernards 37: Cortlyn Morris and Arianna McCleod each scored 10 points to lead Bound Brook (11-1). Morris also gathered 10 rebounds and six blocks. Jenna Whelan posted a double-double, tallying 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Abby Cawley and Bridget Cawley each posted nine points and combined for 18 rebounds, but Bernards fell to 8-3.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 65, Roselle 40: Jack Brady scored 23 points and Tommy Drubulis added 11 points to send Scotch Plains-Fanwood (12-1). Lamont Cruse chopped in nine points for the Raiders.

Old Bridge 80, Piscataway 68: Julius Belton poured in 35 points and Mike Oliva dropped 26 more as Old Bridge improved to 11-4. Antonio Chandler scored 23 points, Keshawn Grant added 21 points and Mattias Arrindell chipped in 13 points for the Chiefs (12-3).

Delaware Valley 53, Somerville 52: Joe Cansfield tallied 16 points, 13 assists and six rebounds as Delaware Valley rallied to improve to 7-7. Brandon Bernhardt chipped in 16 points and six boards for the Terriers, who trailed 29-16 at halftime. Ethan Hillman scored 14 points and Kevin Sokol netted 13 points for the Pioneers (2-11).

Rahway 64, Cranford 23: Nick Galette scored 14 points and Zion Pendleton added 12 points to fuel Rahway (13-0). Keyshawn Cummings tossed in 11 points in the victory.

Watchung Hills 57, North Hunterdon 50: Gavin DeFuria poured in 20 points and Dan Pilsbury notched 14 points to send Watchung Hills (9-5). Chad Martini pulled down 10 rebounds in the victory. Wes Reinagel scored 17 points to pace North Hunterdon (7-5).

Hunterdon Central 62, Immaculata 49: Sam Johnson netted 20 points and David Johansson and Sean Overman each scored 11 points to lead Hunterdon Central (8-5). Dan Johnson scored 11 points to pace Immaculata (6-8).

Bernards 67, North Plainfield 49: Kyle Levine tallied 18 points and Owen Loughlin scored 15 points to send Bernards (10-3). Alex Kotwick helped out with 12 points for the Mountaineers. For North Plainfield (5-8), Tony Godwin scored 31 points. 

Hillsborough 39, Franklin 37: Justin Brown scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds to power Hillsborough (5-8). Franklin is 4-9.

Bound Brook 54, Voorhees 51: Kyle Frauenheim posted 12 points and eight rebounds and Kessiem Moore chipped in 12 points, seven rebounds and eight assists to help deliver Bound Brook (9-5). RJ Frazier added nine points and six rebounds for the Crusaders. Eric Schroeter scored 14 points and Joey Capone added 11 points for Voorhees (10-2).

Roselle Catholic 65, Linden 45: Tavon Jones scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds, and Myles Ruth chipped in 10 points, but Linden fell to 11-3.

Perth Amboy 52, East Brunswick 45: Joshua Cabezudo netted 21 points and Perth Amboy improved to 5-9. Joseph Duran helped out with nine points for the Panthers. Joe Sampson scored 16 points to lead the Bears (7-7).

Edison 66, Steinert 40: Christian Wangtong scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Abu Kaikai posted a double-double, going for 13 points and 14 boards to propel Edison (8-8). Thomas Johnson scored 15 points and Jaymin Vakharia netted 12 points for the Eagles.

Governor Livingston 49, Hillside 45 (OT): Matt Faller and Tyler McCulloch each scored 13 points as Governor Livingston triumphed in overtime. Ryan Davey chipped in nine points for the Highlanders (7-5).

Woodbridge 71, New Brunswick 70: Curtis Nesbit scored 17 points and Henry Kyree added 15 points as Woodbridge held off a fierce rally to improve to 7-6. Kesean Glover chipped in 14 points and Kemari Persol scored 10 points in the victory. Ahyan Brown-Miller poured in 31 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists, and Nymir Belk notched 16 points and 11 boards for the Zebras (3-9), who outscored the Barrons 27-15 in the fourth quarter but couldn’t close the gap.

Dayton 67, Somerset Tech 54: Norbert Malik recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 18 rebounds, 11 blocks, four assists and two steals for Somerset Tech (4-8). Elijah Bowers finished with 18 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal. Aamon Sparrow totaled 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. 

Union 57, Plainfield 52: Dante Porter led Plainfield (7-8) with 13 points. Romey Talley scored 10 points. 

St. Joseph (Met.) 36, Monroe 22: Tyree Taganeca-Ford scored 12 points to lead St. Joseph (12-3). Luke Fresco added 11 points. Jari Davis led Monroe (4-10) with seven points. 

North Brunswick 64, J.F. Kennedy 48: Delano Whitfield scored a game-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers, to lift North Brunswick (6-7). Avery Claggett finished with 15 points and Maneet Batra posted 12 points. For J.F. Kennedy (0-15), Rohan Chakke and David Silva each scored 12 points. 

J.P. Stevens 58, South Brunswick 39: Elisha Smith led J.P. Stevens (7-7) with 18 points, three rebounds and two steals. Tyrese Conover finished with 13 points, eight assists, three rebounds and one steal. Kasi Hazzard added 10 points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist. For South Brunswick (0-13), Akhil Edekar scored 14 points and Kimani Daniel scored 10 points. 

South Hunterdon 60, Belvidere 33: Eric Myers scored 14 points to spark South Hunterdon (9-5). Joe Armstrong finished with 13 points and Jack Myers chipped in 10 points. 

Colonia 58, Sayreville 37: Frank Lehmann scored 14 points to power Colonia (8-7). Chad Baker and Connor Bevilacqua each scored 10 points. For Sayreville (12-4), Zaire Jackson scored eight points.
