New Providence wrestlers Smith, Delia place second in Battle at the Bay

New Providence's Owen Smith and Joseph Delia each placed second in the Battle at the Bay Wrestling Tournament contested at Bayonne High School on Saturday.

The Pioneers, who entered just six wrestlers in the event, placed last in the 10-team tournament, which Middletown North won.

Smith dropped a 10-5 decision to Newton's Wyatt McCarthy in the 160-pound final.

Delia was pinned in 52 seconds by Middletown North's Nicholas Cofone in the 182-pound final.
