BOYS BASKETBALL

Bernards 53, Warren Hills 50 (OT): Cubby Schuller hit two free throws with 1.9 seconds remaining for Bernards (1-0) to send the game to overtime. Owen Loughlin led with 14 points and Kyle Levine scored 12 points.

Rutgers Prep 89, Immaculata 69: Trey Patterson recorded 25 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and block to lead Rutgers Prep (1-0). Jonah Charles finished with 18 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Richie Greaves had 13 points, two rebounds, four assists and one steal. Jared Chambliss led Immaculata (0-1) with 19 points, six rebounds and three assists. TJ Schneider recorded 18 points and three rebounds. Jaden Honis added 12 points and three assists. Luke Medley chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and one assist. 

Timothy Christian 64, Piscataway Tech 61: Nick Aviles hit a 3-pointer with one second remaining in the game to lift Timothy Christian (1-0) to victory. Robert Saydee led with 29 points. Pierce Kokosinski scored 21 points. For Piscataway Tech (0-1), Branden Barnes and Chris Zambonino each scored 13 points. Daniel Peacock finished with 12 points and Josh Lugo scored 11 points. Sergio Rogriguez added 10 points. 

Middlesex 78, South Plainfield 54: Tyler Ha scored a game-high 24 points to pace Middlesex (1-0). He also had six steals and six assists. Jake Robel finished with a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. John Dickey scored 14 points and Ahmaad Rawlins chipped in nine rebounds and four points. Dontre Tate led South Plainfield (0-1) with 15 points. Gio Dudley scored 12 points. 

Perth Amboy Tech 64, South Amboy 62 (OT): Carlos Morla scored 24 points to lead Perth Amboy Tech (1-0). Mauricio Arias finished with 18 points and Kelvin Diaz scored 15 points. Kyle Gasiewski led South Amboy (0-1) with 32 points, two steals and one assist. Steve McLaughlin totaled 15 points, two rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block. 

Bridgewater-Raritan 59, Watchung Hills 55: Sterling White led Bridgewater-Raritan (1-0) with 23 points. Aaron Gao finished with 14 points. Justin Bryant added nine points. Dan Pilsbury recorded 23 points for Watchung Hills (0-1). Steven Bressler totaled 13 points. 

Bishop Ahr 79, South River 57: Matt Panganiban scored 17 points to lift Bishop Ahr (1-0). Alex Santiago and Quadry Adams each scored 13 points. Derrick Whitaker led South River (0-1) with 24 points, five rebounds and three steals. Jayvon Taylor added 11 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Joseph Nigro chipped in six points, two rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block. 

St. Joseph (Met.) 59, East Brunswick 52: Tyree Taganeca-Ford led St. Joseph (1-0) with 18 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block. K-Shawn Schulters finished with 13 points, three rebounds and one assist. Daniel Young chipped in 10 points and three steals. Howard McBurnie added seven points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals. Joe Sampson led East Brunswick (0-1) with 15 points, five rebounds and two steals. Xavier Fitzgerald contributed 11 points, four rebounds and two steals. 

Somerville 67, North Plainfield 47: Ethan Hilliman recorded a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds for Somerville (1-0). Chris Elwood also had a double-double with 12 points and 18 rebounds. Kevin Sokol finished with 11 points and six rebounds. Kyle Rolon added 10 points and two rebounds. Tony Godwin scored a game-high 35 points for North Plainfield (0-1).

Somerset Tech 57, Morris Tech 54: Norbert Malik recorded a double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal for Somerset Tech (1-0). Harris Syed finished with 17 points, two rebounds, two steals and one assist. Elijah Bowers added 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals. Aamon Sparrow chipped in seven points, 10 rebounds, seven steals, two assists and two blocks. 

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 53, Colonia 32: Tommy Drubulis led Scotch Plains-Fanwood (1-0) with 13 points. Lamont Cruse tallied 10 points. Dwight Laylor and Justin Guy each scored nine points. For Colonia (0-1), Frank Lehmann led with 11 points. Connor Bevilacqua chipped in nine points. 

Piscataway 64, Perth Amboy 50: Mattias Arrindell scored 17 points to lift Piscataway (1-0). Jordan Davidson scored 16 points. Joshua Cabezudo led Perth Amboy (0-1) with 21 points. 

Woodbridge 51, Edison 48: Curtis Nesbit scored a team-high 14 points to lead Woodbridge (1-0). Henry Kyree scored 12 points and Kemari Persol scored 11 points. Daniel Boateng added four points and eight rebounds. Abu Kaikai and Jaymin Vakharia each scored 16 points to lead Edison (0-1). Thomas Johnson recorded 10 points. 

Delaware Valley 66, Manville 13: Matt DiGuardia finished with 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal to lead Delaware Valley (1-0). Joe Cansfield recorded 12 points, five assists, five steals and two rebounds. Jack Skibinski added 10 points, two blocks and one rebound. Safir Grovesande scored four points for Manville (0-1). 

Bound Brook 61, Belvidere 29: Kyle Frauenheim recorded a double-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds and two assists to lift Bound Brook (1-0). Jayden Hill finished with 15 points and three rebounds. David LePoidevin added 10 rebounds and three points. RJ Frazier chipped in six points, six rebounds and two assists. 

Gill St. Bernard's 97, North Hunterdon 48: Paul Mulcahy led Gill St. Bernard's (1-0) with 24 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals. William Soucie recorded a double-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Alex Schachne totaled 13 points, four rebounds, seven assists and four steals. TJ Chaney chipped in 10 points, four steals and one rebound. Paul Woolhouse led North Hunterdon (0-1) with 19 points. 

Ridge 47, Hunterdon Central 43: Chris Feringa led Ridge (1-0) with 15 points and six rebounds. Jeremy McCavera hit two free throws with four seconds remaining to seal the win. He finished with 13 points and five rebounds. David Johansson scored 14 points for Hunterdon Central (0-1). 

Carteret 71, Spotswood 61: Isaiah Daniels-Porter led Carteret (1-0) with a game-high 29 points. Donte Prioleau scored 11 points and Jahlil Nix added 10 points. For Spotswood (0-1), Matt Vento led with 21 points. Abdullah Nieskens scored 17 points. 

Linden 67, Westfield 32: Tavon Jones recorded a triple-doublle for Linden (1-0) with 32 points, 11 rebounds, 10 steals and five assists. Jaylin Cooper-Reid finished with 12 rebounds, three points, three blocks and two steals. Luis Rodriguez totaled 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals. For Westfield (0-1), Michael Kane scored 14 points. 

Pingry 77, Koinonia 50: Mike Weber finished with 31 points and 10 rebounds to lead Pingry (1-0). Nate Hefner added a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. 

Phillipsburg 60, Hillsborough 40: Jackson Parham finished with 15 points, five rebounds, one block and one steal for Hillsborough (0-1). Aron Lauan added eight points, two rebounds and one steal. 

Dunellen 66, Wardlaw-Hartridge 42: Tyje Kelton recorded a double-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals to lift Dunellen (1-0). Drew Johnson finished with 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal. Noah Wenzel chipped in eight points, two assists, three steals and one rebound. Ryan Petela led Wardlaw-Hartridge (0-1) with 20 points and Shalon Wallace scored 19 points. 

Rahway 59, Hillside 44: Keyshawn Cummings led Rahway (1-0) with 22 points. Zion Pendleton scored 20 points and Nick Galette added 10 points. 

New Brunswick 67, J.F. Kennedy 46: Ahyan Brown-Miller recorded 23 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals to lift New Brunswick (1-0). Kenneth Lebron totaled 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals. Johenny Peralta added eight points, four rebounds, three assists and six steals. Highland Park 71, East Brunswick Tech 65: Dylan Powell scored nine points for Highland Park (1-0). For East Brunswick Tech (0-1), Dylan Stratton led with 18 points. Ronald Jobin scored 14 points. Sean Mejorada and Chris Rosa each added 11 points. 

Johnson 68, New Providence 58: Dylan Bedder finished with a double-double for New Providence (0-1) with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Brian Kelly and Greg Meyers each scored 11 points. 

Voorhees 42, South Hunterdon 37: Kyle Kokoskie led Voorhees (1-0) with 15 points. Joey Capone scored 10 points. Eric Myers scored 10 points for South Hunterdon (0-1). 

St. Mary (Eliz.) 41, Plainfield 35: Jalil Lee scored 10 points to pace Plainfield (0-1). Mark Daniels and Dante Porter each scored eight points. 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

New Brunswick 35, J.F. Kennedy 29: Brehanna Chang finished with 10 points, four rebounds, four steals and one assist to lead New Brunswick (1-0). Aniyah Thomas recorded nine points, six steals, two rebounds and one assist. Nakima Lue added 10 steals, three points, five rebounds and four assists. Rose Jimenez chipped in four points, five rebounds, three assists and eight steals. For J.F. Kennedy (0-1), Jaylin Cabrera scored 12 points and Kristina Caroselli scored seven points. 

South Plainfield 49, Woodbridge 42: Alyssa Palmeri led South Plainfield (1-0) with 18 points and one steal. Syleen Reyes finished with 10 points, two rebounds, seven assists and one steal. Bridgette Titus added 13 rebounds, three points and one steal. Mackenzie O'Brien totaled five points, 14 rebounds and four assists. Brooke Timinski led Woodbridge (0-1) with 25 points. 

Piscataway 62, Perth Amboy 41: LaNiya Miller led Piscataway (1-0) with 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals. Yamirah Bennett finished with 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and five steals. Ariel Jenkins tallied six points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, four steals and one assist. Angelica Holgium led Perth Amboy (0-1) with 18 points. 

East Brunswick 76, Edison 55: Alyssa Bondi led East Brunswick (1-0) with 22 points. Nicole Johnson and Bianca Nakar each scored 16 points. For Edison (0-1), Daniella Marmol finished with a double-double with 28 points, 19 rebounds and six blocks. Lourdes Marasigan scored nine points. Virginia Lagdameo added eight points and five rebounds. 

Bishop Ahr 64, Colonia 21: Emma Boslet scored a game-high 26 points to pace Bishop Ahr (1-0). Megan Herka added 13 points. For Colonia (0-1), Alexis Banko finished with six points, two rebounds and one steal. Caitlyn Hroncich added four points, six rebounds and five blocks. Kailee Stanley totaled four points, seven rebounds and three blocks. 

Spotswood 62, Carteret 37: Maddie Hellerich led Spotswood (1-0) with 13 points. Courtney Potter and Jessica Addesso each scored 10 points. 

Woodbridge Academy 49, Wardlaw-Hartridge 18: Asiyaah Khan finished with 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, four steals and one block for Woodbridge Academy (1-0). Tamera Hutchinson recorded a double-double with 12 points, 10 steals, five rebounds and one assist. Joyce Vilson added eight points, seven steals and five assists. Kristyn Smith scored eight points for Wardlaw-Hartridge (0-1).

South River 57, Mother Seton 27: Sonia Guiste recorded a triple-double for South River (1-0) with 14 points, 13 rebounds, 11 steals, three assists and three blocks. Tara Beachem finished with 14 points, three rebounds, four assists and six steals. Ashley Fischer added eight points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, one steal and one assist. 

Middlesex 69, Highland Park 20: Carly Santucci led Middlesex (1-0) with 21 points, four assists, two steals and one rebound. Gianna Canavescio finished with 12 points and one rebound. Olivia Robel totaled 10 points, six rebounds, five blocks and three assists. For Highland Park (0-1), Uchechi Odikanawa, Theresa Hardy, Elizabeth Hardy and Ariyana Samuel all scored four points. 

Perth Amboy Tech 41, South Amboy 22: Daisy Arocho scored 12 points to pace Perth Amboy Tech (1-0). Hannah Cotayo tallied eight points. For South Amboy (0-1), Julie Olivieri finished with seven points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks. 

Linden 40, Plainfield 34: Lexis Rodriguez led Linden (1-0) with 11 points. Karisma Lewis scored eight points. Tahni Helms-Ishmael led Plainfield (0-1) with 12 points. 

Oak Knoll 48, Rahway 27: Wil'Lisha Jackson led Rahway (0-1) with 17 points. 

ICE HOCKEY

Hunterdon Central 4, Hillsborough 3: Daniel Cicala and Sasha Pace each recorded one goal and one assist for Hunterdon Central (1-2-1). Tom Ranger-Simard and Will Meyer also scored. Noah Dominick made 17 saves. For Hillsborough (2-3-1), Lleyton Soares scored twice. Jude Kurtas finished with one goal and one assist. Mike Jandoli added two assists. Domenick Mazzaferro, Brock Forrest and Matt Palmer each had one assist. Danny Volonnino made 34 saves. 

Hun 5, Pingry 1: Ryan Bush scored for Pingry (6-1) on assists from Joe Faccone and Jack Myers. Peter Papadopoulos made 31 saves. 

Summit 1, Gov. Livingston 0: Nick Papa finished with 21 saves for Governor Livingston (1-5-1). 

Colonia 9, Red Bank Regional 0: Travis Beni led Colonia (4-0) with four goals and three assists. Drew Galea finished with one goal and three assists. Thomas John Evan added one goal and two assists. Justin DiNatale, Bryan Nieroda and Thomas DellaSala also scored. Jared Dulemba totaled two assists. Matthew Haggerty, Chris Lyons and Adam Godfrey each had one assist. Adam Godfrey recorded 15 saves. 

GIRLS ICE HOCKEY

Pingry 3, Holton Arms 1: Caroline Petrow-Cohen, Allie Moss and Rylie Drozjock all scored for Pingry (4-3). Julia Spinelli had one assist. Emma Barrison made 16 saves.
