Perth Amboy’s historic season hit a snag in Friday’s 42-0 loss to top-seeded Manalapan in a Central Group V quarterfinal.
Manalapan’s Naim Mayfield rushed for 256 yards and five touchdowns as the Braves (10-0) remained unbeaten. Mayfield, who entered the night with 2,114 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns, was a big reason that his team owns an 18-game regular season winning streak.

Perth Amboy’s season isn’t over yet. The Brad Bishop-coached Panthers travel to Carteret for their annual game on Thanksgiving.
