Boys lacrosse: Union County Tournament seeds announced

The Union County Boys Lacrosse Tournament seeds were announced this week, with Summit earning the No. 1 seed and defending champion Westfield garnering the No. 2 seed.

Both Summit and Westfield, which beat the Hilltoppers in triple overtime in last year's final, earned double-byes into the semifinals. New Providence, which was given the No. 3 seed and Scotch Plains-Fanwood, the fourth seed, earned byes into the quarterfinals.

The opening round of the tournament will be contested Friday, and the quarterfinals will be held next Tuesday at the site of the higher seed. The semifinals will be held Thursday, May 5 at A.L. Johnson at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The final is set for 7:30 p.m. May 7 at A.L. Johnson as a double-header with the girls final.

8-Governor Livingston at 5-Cranford; winner vs. 4-Scotch Plains-Fanwood; winner vs. 1-Summit

7-Oratory Prep at 6-A.L. Johnson; winner vs. 3-New Providence; winner vs. 2-Westfield
