Skyland/UCC softball roundup for Wednesday, April 8

Hunterdon Central 9, Watchung Hills 5: Madison Sias finished 2-for-3 with a homer and two runs, and Jess McGuire added a home run and two RBIs as the Hunterdon Central High School softball team scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday to rally for a 9-5 victory over Watchung Hills. Tiffani Semanchik also homered for the Red Devils (4-1). Annie Suitovsky went 4-for-4 with a double and a run and Alyssa Murray posted two hits, including a homer, and two RBIs for Watchung Hills (3-2).

Montgomery 3, Warren Hills 2: Kira Ferraiolo posted two hits and an RBI while earning the victory from the circle, allowing two runs on six hits, walking one and striking out five for Montgomery. Erin Ender, Julia Loffredo and Kelsey Woodard all scored runs for the undefeated Cougars (4-0). Madey Smith allowed one earned run on just three hits and struck out 13, but the Warren Hills ace walked seven.

North Hunterdon 9, Franklin 0: Maggie Swan fired a two-hit shutout, walking none and striking out 11 to lift North Hunterdon. Meghan Graham posted two hits, a run and two RBIs for the Lions (2-2), while Melissa Meiners finished 2-for-4 with a triple, run and RBI, while Isabella Many went for a single, double, run and RBI in the win. Sarah Smith doubled and Chloe Conover singled for Franklin (2-3).

Hillsborough 9, Immaculata 1: Jess Santelli finished 2-for-4 with two runs and Katie Gademsky allowed no earned runs on two hits, walked two and struck out three for Hillsborough (4-0). Taryn Grober scored twice for the Raiders, while Arielle Couso posted a run and an RBI. Erica Bower went 1-for-3 for Immaculata (1-1).
