Manalapan woman killed in Monroe crash

MONROE – A Manalapan woman was pronounced dead at the scene early Wednesday morning after the vehicle she was driving struck a deer, sending the vehicle veering off the roadway and into a ditch, police said.

Nalani E. Tesalona, 29, was traveling west on Buckelew Avenue at about 3:12 a.m. in a 2007 Pontiac G6. As the vehicle approached the intersection of Gravel Hill Spotswood Road, it struck a deer and crossed the double yellow center line and the eastbound lane of Buckelew Avenue. The vehicle veered off the roadway to the left, drove across the property at 449 Buckelew, struck a tree and rolled over into a ditch, police said.

Tesalona was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation by Sgt. Sergeis Jangols with the Monroe Township Traffic Safety Division. Anyone with information is asked to contact Jangols at 732-521-0222, ext. 126.
